Władysław Pabisz, was a Polish ice hockey goaltender. He played for KTH Krynica and Podhale Nowy Targ during his career. He also played for the Polish national team at the 1956 and 1964 Winter Olympics and several World Championships.

Kazimierz Władysław Bryniarski, was a Polish ice hockey player and coach. He played for Podhale Nowy Targ during his career. He also played for the Polish national team at the 1956 Winter Olympics, and multiple world championships. After his playing career he turned to coaching, winning the 1968–69 Polish league championship with Podhale. In 2004 he was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit for his services to sports.

Tadeusz Kacik was a Polish ice hockey player. He played for Podhale Nowy Targ and KTH Krynicaduring his career. He also played for the Polish national team at the 1972 Winter Olympics and multiple World Championships. Kacik won the Polish league championship six times in his career, all with Podhale. In 1971 he was voted the best player in Poland. His grandson, Patryk Wronka, also plays ice hockey and has represented Poland internationally.

Podhale State Vocational University in Nowy Targ is a public vocational university in Nowy Targ, Poland. It was founded in 2001, following the initiative of the Lesser Poland voivodeship's authorities. Over 90% of students at PPUZ come from Podhale, Spiš and Orava.
