Polis University is a private for-profit university located in Tirana, Albania. It offers education in architecture, urban planning, design, civil engineering, computer sciences, environmental studies and similar subjects. The study levels offered are bachelor, master, and PhD (in partnership with University of Ferrara, Italy). The founder and rector is Besnik Aliaj.

Epoka University (EU) is a private university founded in 2007 in Tirana, Albania. The university received accreditation by the Quality Assurance Agency of Higher Education in 2011. It offers Bachelor, Master of Science, Professional Master and PhD degrees. There are six PhD programs that are administered solely by Epoka staff in: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Economics, Political Science and International Relations and Business Administration. It offers a joint degree with Leeds Metropolitan University.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kurvelesh (region)</span> Albanian ethnographic region

Kurvelesh is a region in southern Albania, within the Southern Mountain Range. In the region, which is divided into the communes of Brataj, Horë-Vranisht, Kurvelesh and Picar, fifteen villages are located. It is considered to be the heart of the larger Labëria region. The Kurvelesh region is inhabited by Lab Albanians. Traditionally neighbourhoods of local villages in the region had houses built as fortresses lacking windows on the ground floor while the blood feud used to be a common feature of the area. The people of Kurvelesh practised endogamy by intermarrying within the villages of the region.

The Pyramid of Tirana is a structure and former museum located in Tirana, the capital of Albania. It opened as a museum in 1988 and became a conference center in 1991 following the collapse of Communism. During the 1999 Kosovo War, the building was used as a NATO base. In 2018, a new project was unveiled that would open for Creative Technologies under the name of TUMO Center turning the Pyramid into an IT center for youth with a focus on computer programming, robotics, and start ups.

Vitrina University was a private university founded in 2004 in Tirana, Albania according to the Court Decision no: 32.237. Its licence was revoked by the Albanian government in August 2014. The university had seven faculties, offered 41 programs, and was a member of the Balkan Universities Network.

The Albanian University is a private higher education institution in Albania. Licensed by the Council of Ministers, no. 697 dated 18 June 2009, it opened its doors in the academic year 2009-2010, offering programs in two faculties: Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Economics with Learning programs in Banking and Finance-Business Administration. During the first academic year, about 1,000 students attended studies. A year later, this new institution offered undergraduate degrees in study programs: Preschool Teacher Education, Primary Education Teacher, English Language, Nursing, Engineering Computer and Information Technology, thus finalising the 2010-2011 academic year with the opening of two new faculties: Faculty of Medical Sciences and the Faculty of Architecture and Engineering. Academic Year 2010-2011 finds the University of Berat with about 2600 students in the first cycle of study.
