PolyGram Polska Sp. z o.o. (PolyGram Poland), was a Polish subsidiary of PolyGram. The label was founded in 1994 in Warsaw when independent record label Izabelin Studio was brought by PolyGram. [1]

PolyGram was a Dutch entertainment company and major music record label. It was founded in 1962 as the Grammophon-Philips Group by Dutch Philips and German Siemens, to be a holding for their record companies, and was renamed "Polygram" in 1972. The name was chosen to reflect the Siemens interest Polydor Records and the Philips interest Phonogram Records. The company traced its origins through Deutsche Grammophon back to the inventor of the flat disk gramophone, Emil Berliner.

Label was closed in 1998 when PolyGram, within its Polish subsidiary was brought by Seagram and Universal Music Group was formed. [2] PolyGram Polska catalogue have been taken over by Universal Music Polska.

PolyGram Polska bestselling artists included Edyta Bartosiewicz and Katarzyna Kowalska among others, with several albums certified Gold and Platinum in Poland. [3] [4]

Anna Maria Jopek is a Polish musician and singer. She represented her country in the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest, with the song "Ale jestem" and finished 11th out of 25 participating acts; and in 2002, she collaborated on an album with jazz guitarist Pat Metheny. She has received numerous awards for her music, including Michel Legrand's Personal Award in Vitebsk in 1994, as well as all of the awards for music in Poland, together with gold and platinum records.

Closterkeller band

Closterkeller is a Polish gothic rock band from Warsaw. It was formed in 1988 by Przemysław Guryń, Jacek Skirucha, and the vocalist Anja Orthodox. Despite many changes in the band's line-up it has created a characteristic sound. Orthodox is the only member of the original line-up, performing continuously for over 25 years. The band is called one of the forerunners of gothic and atmospheric rock in Poland, they are also under the influence of music styles such as new and cold wave or even heavy metal. Many other groups like Delight, Moonlight or Artrosis said they took their inspirations from Closterkeller.
