Warner Music Poland Sp. z o.o., is a Polish subsidiary of Warner Music Group, it was founded in 1994 in Warsaw. [1] The label's CEO is Piotr Kabaj. [2]
The label started with a catalog of Polish national record label Polton which was bought from Starstream Communications Group by Warner Music Group. [3] [4] [5] [6]
In 2014 Warner Music Poland was merged with Parlophone Music Poland Sp. z o.o., after Parlophone Records, Ltd. was sold by Universal Music Group to Warner Music Group [7] [8]
Warner Music Poland catalogue includes also EMI Music Poland releases before it was renamed in 2013 to Parlophone. [9] That include rights for titles by such artists as Blue Café, T.Love, Voo Voo, Wojciech Waglewski, Wilki and Pati Yang among others.
WMP distributes in Poland releases by such labels as Warner Classics, Nuclear Blast and Roadrunner Records among others. [10]
WMP acquired Polskie Nagrania Muza, Poland's oldest record label, in May 2015. [11]
SBB is a Polish progressive rock band formed in 1971 in Siemianowice, Upper Silesia. It consisted of multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Józef Skrzek, guitarist Apostolis Anthimos, the drummer Jerzy Piotrowski and sound engineer Grzegorz Maniecki. Dżem is a blues rock band formed in Tychy, Poland. Ryszard Riedel, one of the most famous vocalists from Poland, worked with the band. Andrzej Tomasz Piaseczny more commonly known as Piasek, is a Polish singer, songwriter, actor, and television personality. Former Mafia singer, Member of the Phonographic Academy of ZPAV. In the years 1997–2010 he performed in the TV series Złotopolscy, where he played the singer Kacper "Górniak" Złotopolski. His solo career began in 1998. In the same year he performed in a duet with Natalia Kukulska, with whom he recorded the song "You Are Near Me", and also released a solo single "I Know My Way", used in the soundtrack to the movie The Magic Sword – Camelot Legend. Piasek represented Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 with his up-tempo dance song "2 Long". Since 2008, the artist has collaborated with Seweryn Krajewski.
Łzy are a Polish pop rock band formed in 1996, best known for their early 2000s hits "Agnieszka już dawno...", "Narcyz się nazywam", "Jestem jaka jestem" and "Oczy szeroko zamknięte", among others. The group has released one gold and three platinum certified albums in Poland. Up until 2010, the band's lead vocalist was Anna Wyszkoni who continued a successful solo career. Łzy are known for their sad, melancholic lyrics, exploring loneliness, unhappy love and heartbreak, occasionally touching on controversial subjects, such as suicide, rape, abortion, euthanasia and drugs.
