The 2019 United Kingdom general election was held on Thursday 12 December 2019 with 47,567,752 registered voters entitled to vote to elect members of the House of Commons. The governing Conservative Party won a landslide victory with a majority of 80 seats, a net gain of 48, on 43.6% of the popular vote, the highest percentage for any party since the 1979 general election, though with a narrower popular vote margin than that achieved by Labour over the Conservatives in 1997. Reform UK is a right-wing populist political party in the United Kingdom. Following Farage's resumption of the party leadership in early June during the 2024 general election campaign, opinion pollsters and analysts reported an increase in support for the party.
