This is a list of the 122 cartoons of the Popeye the Sailor film series produced by Famous Studios (later known as Paramount Cartoon Studios) for Paramount Pictures from 1942 to 1957, with 14 in black-and-white and 108 in color. [1] These cartoons were produced after Paramount took ownership of Fleischer Studios, which originated the Popeye series in 1933.
All cartoons are one-reel in length (6 to 10 minutes). The first 14 shorts (You're a Sap, Mr. Jap through Cartoons Ain't Human) are in black-and-white. All remaining cartoons (beginning with Her Honor the Mare) are in color. Unlike the Fleischer Studios shorts, the director credits for these shorts represent the actual director in charge of that short's production. The first animator credited handled the animation direction. The numbers listed next to each cartoon continue the numbering of the Fleischer entries.

Bugsy and Mugsy is a 1957 Warner Bros. Looney Tunes cartoon directed by Friz Freleng. The short was released on August 31, 1957, and stars Bugs Bunny, with Rocky and Mugsy. Bugs discovers that two robbers are hiding out on the floor above him, and plays them off against each other. The cartoon is a remake of the 1950 Merrie Melodies short Stooge for a Mouse, in which a mouse pitted Sylvester and Mike against each other in the same way.

Christmas Comes But Once a Year is a 1936 animated short produced by Fleischer Studios and released on December 4, 1936 by Paramount Pictures. It is part of the Color Classics series. An edited version was featured during the Pee-wee's Playhouse Christmas Special in 1988, as the featured short shown by the King of Cartoons.
The Friendly Ghost is a Famous Studios cartoon released on 16 November 1945 as part of its Noveltoons series of animated short films. It is the first cartoon to feature the character Casper the Friendly Ghost.
This is a list of the 109 cartoons of the Popeye the Sailor film series produced by Fleischer Studios for Paramount Pictures from 1933 to 1942.
Olive Oyl for President is a 1948 entry in the Popeye the Sailor animated short subject series, produced by Famous Studios and released on January 30, 1948 by Paramount Pictures. The short is a reworking of a 1932 Betty Boop cartoon, Betty Boop for President, and depicts what Popeye imagines the world would be like if Olive Oyl were president.
Popeye the Sailor is an American animated series of short films based on the Popeye comic strip character created by E. C. Segar. In 1933, Max and Dave Fleischer's Fleischer Studios, based in New York City, adapted Segar's characters into a series of theatrical cartoon shorts for Paramount Pictures. The plotlines in the animated cartoons tended to be simpler than those presented in the comic strips, and the characters slightly different. A villain, usually Bluto, makes a move on Popeye's "sweetie", Olive Oyl. The villain clobbers Popeye until he eats spinach, giving him superhuman strength. Thus empowered, Popeye makes short work of the villain.
This is a listing of all the animated shorts released by Warner Bros. under the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies banners between 1940 and 1949.
Little Boy Boo is a 1954 Warner Bros. Looney Tunes animated short directed by Robert McKimson. The cartoon was released on June 5, 1954, and features Foghorn Leghorn, Miss Prissy and Egghead Jr.
Ghosks is the Bunk is a 1939 animated short starring Popeye, Olive Oyl and Bluto. Olive reads a ghost story to Popeye and Bluto. Bluto leaves and rigs a haunted house and lures them to it. But they quickly discover him and, even better, a can of invisible paint, and they get the better of him.
Trip For Tat is a 1960 Warner Bros. Merrie Melodies animated short directed by Friz Freleng. The short was released on October 29, 1960, and stars Tweety and Sylvester.
What's My Lion? is a 1961 Warner Bros. Looney Tunes theatrical cartoon directed by Robert McKimson and written by David Detiege. The short was released on October 21, 1961 and features Elmer Fudd. This is Elmer's final speaking appearance in the original theatrical Looney Tunes shorts; he appears in 1962's Crow's Feat but does not have any dialogue.
Boo Moon is a 1954 theatrical cartoon short released in 3D as a Stereotoon. It was produced by Famous Studios for the Stereotoon series featuring Casper the Friendly Ghost and distributed by Paramount Pictures.
Don't Axe Me is a 1958 Warner Bros. Merrie Melodies cartoon directed by Robert McKimson. The short was released on January 4, 1958, and stars Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and Barnyard Dawg.
A Haunting We Will Go is a 1949 animated short directed by Seymour Kneitel and narrated again by Frank Gallop, featuring Casper the Friendly Ghost.
Paramount Pictures' Famous Studios produced three theatrical shorts featuring Casper the Friendly Ghost from the Noveltoon series: The Friendly Ghost in 1945, There's Good Boos To-Night in 1948, and A Haunting We Will Go in 1949. From 1950 to 1959, Paramount produced a series of Casper the Friendly Ghost theatrical shorts.
Ghost of Honor is a 1957 American animation and comedy film directed by Izzy Sparber. The film features Casper the Friendly Ghost as well as additional music composed by Winston Sharples.
I do have one interview on video with Mae Questel where she states to Leonard Maltin that she was the replacement voice in "Shape Ahoy", and actually demonstrates her Popeye, and says the engineers then slowed her down mechanically.
"Shape Ahoy" is notable for being the cartoon where Mae Questel did Popeye's voice (Jack Mercer having enlisted and only being sporadically on tap). We know that Questel claimed to have supplied the voice on occasion, and that she did her Popeye for Leonard Maltin and he was impressed. Some have said that if her voice was ever used, it must have been slowed down, but that's unlikely in my opinion, and I see no reason why the voice heard in "Shape Ahoy", which is almost like a prolonged belch, couldn't have been done by a woman. So I vote Mae, for that title at least.
