Porcellio formosus is a species of woodlouse in the genus Porcellio belonging to the family Porcellionidae that can be found in San Pedro and San Francisco of California.
The species are 13 by 6 millimetres (0.51 in × 0.24 in) high and wide, with the antennae segments are as long as 6 millimetres (0.24 in). Their longitudinal band is grayish-white, and have a series of spots which are of the same colour. The body is ovate, with a long, shining, and smooth convex. The eyes are oval shaped, prominent, and have many ocelli. The little developed median frontal lobe is rounded. The drawn out lateral lobes are equal in length and width of the eyes or the face. Both epimera, posterior margin, posterior angles, and the first three segments of the thorax are straight. The fifth, sixth, and seventh segments are bent backwards. The semicircular abdomen of the fifth segment is wide, while epimera on the parts three, four, and five are quite large, but still bent backward. The seventh segment is triangular in shape, and is wide and long. [1]
The species also have a wide, and acuminate apex, which also have a broad longitudinal excavation which is located above the apex. The basal part of the uropoda can be seen from below, with the convex being always above. The dorsal part is dark greyish-red in colour, and have many irregular and pale coloured oblong spots. The spots are mixed and are arranged in two lines, which are divided by an interval. The colour of abdomen is the same as the rest of the body, and are either bi-punctate or tri-punctate at the base. Parahughmilleria is a genus of eurypterid, an extinct group of aquatic arthropods. Fossils of Parahughmilleria have been discovered in deposits of the Devonian and Silurian age in the United States, Canada, Russia, Germany, Luxembourg and Great Britain, and have been referred to several different species. The first fossils of Parahughmilleria, discovered in the Shawangunk Mountains in 1907, were initially assigned to Eurypterus. Insect morphology is the study and description of the physical form of insects. Dipteran morphology differs in some significant ways from the broader morphology of insects. The Diptera is a very large and diverse order of mostly small to medium-sized insects. They have prominent compound eyes on a mobile head, and one pair of functional, membraneous wings, which are attached to a complex mesothorax. The second pair of wings, on the metathorax, are reduced to halteres. The order's fundamental peculiarity is its remarkable specialization in terms of wing shape and the morpho-anatomical adaptation of the thorax – features which lend particular agility to its flying forms. The filiform, stylate or aristate antennae correlate with the Nematocera, Brachycera and Cyclorrhapha taxa respectively. It displays substantial morphological uniformity in lower taxa, especially at the level of genus or species. The configuration of integumental bristles is of fundamental importance in their taxonomy, as is wing venation. It displays a complete metamorphosis, or holometabolous development. The larvae are legless, and have head capsules with mandibulate mouthparts in the Nematocera. The larvae of "higher flies" (Brachycera) are however headless and wormlike, and display only three instars. Pupae are obtect in the Nematocera, or coarcate in Brachycera.
Cyrtodesmus humerosus is a species of millipede in the family Cyrtodesmidae that is endemic to San Vito, Costa Rica, where it was found on April 19, 1972.
Procaris hawaiana is a species of shrimp in the family Procarididae, from Maui, Hawaii. The species is very similar to Procaris ascensionis from Ascension Island. In P. ascensionis the integument is less firm, the rostrum is shorter, the cervical groove is more distinct, and the third abdominal somite reaches less far posteriorly over the fourth; also the scaphocerite has the final tooth still less distinct than in P. hawaiana, and the last segment of its antennal peduncle is less slender.
Paraulax queulensis is a species of gall wasp. Biology of Paraulax species is unknown but given they are associated with Nothofagus forests their biology is probably associated with the pteromalid gall community. This species is named after the place where it was first collected, Los Queules National Reserve. P. queulensis closely resembles P. perplexa, bearing common traits such as colour, habitus and several morphological characters. P. queulensis differs by having a more elongate body, which in the female is 4 times longer than it is high; its mesosoma is 1.6 times longer than high, while its metasoma is 1.9 times longer than high. The mesosoma is more dorsoventrally depressed. Its pronotum s 1.5 times longer laterally than high. It possesses longitudinal costulae running from the lateral margin of its pronotal plate to its lateral surface. Its scutellar foveae is discernible even when shallow. The antenna also differs: the pedicel of the female antenna is 1.4 times longer than wide.

Hoverflies get their names from the ability to remain nearly motionless while in flight. The adults are also known as flower flies for they are commonly found around and on flowers from which they get both enegy-giving nectar and protein rich pollen. Larvae for this genus are of the rat-tailed type. B.diversa larvae have not been described.
