Pornic Agglo Pays de Retz is a French agglomeration community, created on 1 January 2017 and located in the Loire-Atlantique department and the Pays de la Loire region.
After several months of negotiations, the community advisers of the two community of communes of Pornic and Cœur Pays de Retz decided to merge them on 13 June 2016 within an urban community called "Pornic Agglo Pays de Retz". [2]
The agglomeration community was created on 1 January 2017 by prefectural decree of 9 November 2016. [3] [4] On 5 January 2017, during its inaugural meeting, the community council elected the mayor of Pornic, Jean-Michel Brard, as president of the agglomeration community. [5]
On 1 January 2020, the municipality of Villeneuve-en-Retz left the communauté de communes Sud Retz Atlantique and joined Pornic Agglo Pays de Retz. [6]
Located in the southwestern department of Loire-Atlantique , Pornic intercommunal Agglo Retz includes 15 towns and has an area of 522.1 km2 (201.6 sq mi). [7]

The agglomeration community is administered by its community council made up in 2020 of 42 community councillors, who are municipal councillors representing each of the member municipalities.
Following the 2020 municipal elections in Loire-Atlantique, the community council of 9 July 2020 re-elected its president, Jean-Michel Brard, mayor of Pornic, as well as its 9 vice-presidents. As of this date, the list of vice-presidents is as follows:

The intercommunality exercises the powers which have been transferred to it by the member municipalities, under the conditions defined by the general code of local authorities .
The agglomeration community is a public establishment of inter-municipal cooperation with its own tax system.
In order to finance the exercise of its powers, the intercommunality collects the single professional tax [ 3 ] (FPU) - which succeeded the single professional tax (TPU) - and ensures an equalization of resources between the residential municipalities and those with of activity zones.
In order to implement its obligations, the inter-municipal association employs 200 agents.

Laval Agglomération is the communauté d'agglomération, an intercommunal structure, centred on the city of Laval. It is located in the Mayenne department, in the Pays de la Loire region, western France. It was created in 2001 as the Communauté d'agglomération de Laval. It was merged with the former communauté de communes du Pays de Loiron to form the communauté d'agglomération Laval Agglomération on 1 January 2019. Its area is 686.1 km2. Its population was 113,854 in 2016, of which 49,573 in Laval proper.
The communauté urbaine Caen la Mer is the communauté urbaine, an intercommunal structure, centred on the city of Caen. It is located in the Calvados department, in the Normandy region, northwestern France. It was created in January 2017, replacing the previous Communauté d'agglomération Caen la Mer and two communautés de communes. Its area is 362.9 km2. Its population was 268,470 in 2018, of which 105,512 in Caen proper.

Sète Agglopôle Méditerranée is an intercommunal government structure, in the Hérault département of the Occitanie région, in France. Its seat is in Frontignan. Its area is 310.3 km2. Its population was 125,325 in 2018, of which 43,686 in Sète and 22,731 in Frontignan. The Communauté d'agglomération du Bassin de Thau was established in December 2002. The former Communauté de communes du Nord du Bassin de Thau was merged into it in January 2017, and its name was changed to Sète Agglopôle Méditerranée in September 2017.

It was created in January 2017 by the merger of the former Communauté d'agglomération Vannes Agglo with the former communautés de communes Loc'h Communauté and Presqu'île de Rhuys. Its area is 807.4 km2. Its population was 169,785 in 2018, of which 53,438 in Vannes proper.
Redon Agglomération is a French intercommunal structure centred on the city of Redon. It is located in the departments Morbihan, Ille-et-Vilaine and Loire-Atlantique, in the regions Brittany and Pays de la Loire, northwestern France. It was created in April 1996. Roannais Agglomération is the communauté d'agglomération, an intercommunal structure, centred on the city of Roanne. It is located in the Loire department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, east-central France. It was created in January 2013 by the merger of the former Communauté d'agglomération Grand Roanne Agglomération with 4 former communautés de communes and 1 other commune. Its seat is in Roanne. The Haute Perche Canal, despite its title, is a natural river, the Rivière de Haute-Perche, that has been slightly canalised to improve navigation between its mouth in the Bay of Bourgneuf at the port town of Pornic and the upstream settlements of Le Clion-sur-Mer, Chauvé and Arthon-en-Retz. It is located in the Pays de Retz in the Loire-Atlantique department and the Pays de la Loire region. It has also been known as the Canal de Pornic since the 16th century and was sometimes called the Étier de Haute Perche. Historically, it was called the Rouet, after the wheels of the water mills in the port.
The Communauté d'agglomération Provence-Alpes or Provence-Alpes Agglomération is a French agglomeration community, created on 21 October 2016, located in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, in region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Its seat is Digne-les-Bains. Its area is 1574.0 km2. Its population was 47,382 in 2018, which is 29% of the population of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
Saint-Lô Agglo is the communauté d'agglomération, an intercommunal structure, centred on the town of Saint-Lô. It is located in the Manche department, in the Normandy region, northwestern France. Created in 2017, its seat is in Saint-Lô. Its area is 819.9 km2. Its population was 76,116 in 2019, of which 19,050 in Saint-Lô proper.
