A combined cycle power plant is an assembly of heat engines that work in tandem from the same source of heat, converting it into mechanical energy. On land, when used to make electricity the most common type is called a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant. The same principle is also used for marine propulsion, where it is called a combined gas and steam (COGAS) plant. Combining two or more thermodynamic cycles improves overall efficiency, which reduces fuel costs.

The company's electric and natural gas service area spans 6,000 square miles (16,000 km2).
Orot Rabin is a power station, as of 2016 Israel's largest. It is currently a 2.59GW coal-fired plant, although some of its generating units are in the process of conversion to a single-shaft combined-cycle gas power plant. It is situated on the Mediterranean coast in Hadera, Israel and is owned and operated by the Israel Electric Corporation (IEC). The older, unmodernised four of its total six coal-fuelled units will be closed by mid-2022 in order to eliminate this major source of air pollution in the country.
Poolbeg Generating Station, colloquially known as The Poolbeg Stacks, is a power station owned and operated by the Electricity Supply Board of Ireland (ESB). There are two stations on the site, the older thermal station containing units 1, 2, and 3 and the combined cycle gas station containing units CG14, CG15 and ST16, which is located toward the eastern end of the site. The six units have a total installed capacity of 1020 MW.
The Huntly Power Station is the largest thermal power station in New Zealand and is located in the town of Huntly in the Waikato. It is operated by Genesis Energy Limited, a publicly listed company. The station has five operational generating units – three 250 MW coal-and-gas-fired steam turbine units, a 50 MW gas peaking plant, and a 403 MW combined cycle gas turbine plant. The station also plays an important role in voltage support for the Northland, Auckland and Waikato regions.
Cockburn Power Station (CKB) is a power station in Cockburn, Western Australia. The station was commissioned by Western Power Corporation in 2003 and is immediately south of the older Kwinana Power Station. It has a 160 MW natural gas powered Alstom GT13E2 gas turbine which provides steam to an 80 MW steam turbine that together generate a total 240 MW of electricity. It was the first combined cycle gas turbine power station in Western Australia. It came under the control of Verve Energy in 2006 when Western Power was split, and since 2014 has been under control of Synergy.
The Eshkol Power Station is a power station supplying electrical power to the Shephelah region in Israel. It is located in north industrial zone of Ashdod near the mouth of the Lakhish River, close to the port of Ashdod and the Ashdod Oil Refineries which provided the plant with fuel oil prior to its conversion to use natural gas. The power station is also close to the sea since its cooling system uses sea water.
The Stratford Power Station is a 577 MW power station located east of Stratford, in Taranaki, New Zealand. The original power station on the site was a 200 MW gas turbine power plant that opened in 1976 and closed in 2001. The current power station comprises a 377 MW combined cycle unit that opened in 1998 and two open cycle gas turbine units for peaking power that opened in 2011. The station is now owned and operated by Contact Energy.

Commissioned in 1964, it is the first thermal power station built in Sri Lanka, after the country gained independence.
