Prashant Vaidya (born 23 September 1967) is a former Indian cricketer. He played domestic cricket for Bengal and played four One Day Internationals for India in 1995 and 1996. At that time he was considered to be the fastest bowler in India.
He was instrumental in developing the Vidarbha Cricket Association coaching academy. [1] [2]

The Vidarbha cricket team is an Indian domestic cricket team plays in the India's domestic first-class cricket competition Ranji Trophy and limited-overs Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. It represents the Vidarbha region of eastern Maharashtra. In December 2017, they reached the final of the Ranji Trophy for the first time in their history, after they beat Karnataka by 5 runs in the semi-finals of the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy tournament. In the final, they beat Delhi by 9 wickets to win their first Ranji Trophy. In the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy, Vidarbha successfully defended the crown by defeating Saurashtra by 78 runs in the final played at Nagpur.
Subramaniam Badrinath is a former Indian international cricketer. He is a right-handed middle order batter and an occasional right-arm off break bowler. He had represented the Indian cricket team and was named in the 30 man provisional squad for the 2007 Cricket World Cup but did not make it to the final squad. He has played for Tamil Nadu, Vidarbha, Hyderabad and South zone in domestic cricket. He has also played for Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has also represented the Indian Board President's XI on several occasions.
Umeshkumar Tilak Yadav is an Indian cricketer who currently plays for Vidarbha cricket team, Indian national team, Essex and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. Yadav was a member of the team that won the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.

The 2017–18 Ranji Trophy was the 84th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament that took place in India between October 2017 and January 2018. Vidarbha won the tournament, beating Delhi by 9 wickets in the final, to win their first Ranji Trophy title. Vidarbha made their Ranji Trophy debut in the 1957–58 season, making it the third-longest wait before a team won their maiden title. Vidarbha's captain, Faiz Fazal, said that "winning the Ranji Trophy has been the biggest achievement in my career".

The 2018–19 Irani Cup is the 57th season of Irani Cup, a first-class cricket competition in India. It was played as a one-off match between the Vidarbha and Rest of India cricket team, from 12 February 2019 to 16 February 2019. In April 2018, ESPNcricinfo had reported that Irani Cup was proposed to be no more part of the domestic season but it was included in the final schedule released by BCCI in July. Vidarbha successfully defended their title and defeated Rest of India on first-innings basis to win the tournament. Vidarbha became the third team after Bombay and Karnataka to defend both the Ranji Trophy and Irani Cup. Hanuma Vihari became the first player to score 3 consecutive centuries in Irani Cup.

The 1990–91 Irani Cup was played from 1–5 November 1990 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. The match between the Ranji Trophy champions Bengal and Rest of India was drawn. Rest of India won the Irani Cup through their first innings lead.
