Anniyan (transl. Stranger) is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language psychological action thriller film written and directed by S. Shankar and produced by V. Ravichandran of Aascar Films. The plot centres on a disillusioned everyman whose frustration at what he sees as increasing social apathy and public negligence leads to a split personality that attempts to improve the system. Vikram stars as Ambi, an idealistic, law-abiding lawyer who has Dissociative identity disorder and develops two other identities: a suave fashion model named Remo and a murderous vigilante named Anniyan. I is a 2015 Indian Tamil-language romantic action thriller film written and directed by S. Shankar. Produced and distributed by V. Ravichandran under his production company, Aascar Films, the film features Vikram, Amy Jackson and Suresh Gopi in lead roles while Santhanam, Upen Patel, Ojas Rajani and Ramkumar Ganesan portray pivotal roles. Told in nonlinear narrative, the film tells the story of a bodybuilder turned supermodel named Lingesan, who turns into a Hunchback by the hands of his enemies by using a Virus. After being deformed, he exacts revenge upon those who were responsible for his predicament. Parts of the film were loosely based on The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Beauty and the Beast. The soundtrack and film score were composed by A. R. Rahman.
Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde is a 2013 Indian Telugu-language romantic comedy film directed by debutant Vijay Kumar Konda and written by Harsha Vardhan. Produced by N. Nikitha Reddy under the banner of Shresht Movies, The film stars Nithiin, Nithya Menen, and Isha Talwar. Anup Rubens composed the music while I. Andrew and Prawin Pudi handled the cinematography and editing respectively.

Lokesh Kanagaraj is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works in Tamil films. He started his career with a short film in the 2016 anthology Aviyal. He later directed his first feature film Maanagaram (2017). He created the Lokesh Cinematic Universe franchise owing to the commercial success of Kaithi (2019), making it the franchise's first installment. He directed Master (2021) featuring Vijay which emerged a commercial success. This was followed by Vikram (2022) as the second installment in LCU, with Kamal Haasan in the lead role, which emerged as one of the highest grossing Indian films. He then worked on Leo (2023), a commercially successful film collaborating with Vijay again and serving it as the third installment in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe franchise.
Palasa 1978 is a 2020 Indian Telugu-language period action thriller film written and directed by Karuna Kumar in his directorial debut. The film stars Rakshith, Nakshatra, and Raghu Kunche who also composed the music. Prawin Yendamuri and Thiruveer play a supporting roles. The film is set in 1970s in Palasa, a town in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh and revolves around the incidents related to caste discrimination and untouchability. The film was listed in the Film Companion's "Top 7 Telugu films of 2020" chart.
