Prithviraj Productions is an Indian film production and distribution company based in Kochi, Kerala. It was established in 2017, by actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, and his wife, Supriya Menon. Since then, it has produced and distributed over 10 films. [1]

History

Prithviraj Productions debuted in film production through the 2019 Malayalam film 9 , directed by Jenuse Mohamed and starring Prithviraj. [2] Major part of the filming took place in Manali and Spiti Valley. It took more than six months for the post-production. [3] Production of the film was completed at a cost lower than the estimated budget. [4]

Prithviraj Productions has distributed many other language films in Kerala. [5] [6]

Prithviraj Productions received appreciation from the Central Ministry for their prompt filing and payment of GST taxes. The company received the certificate from the Central Board of Indirect Tax, which is under the Union Ministry of Finance. This approval relates to the tax payment for the financial year 2022–23. [7]

It is an adaptation of the 2008 best-selling Malayalam novel Aadujeevitham by Benyamin, which is based on the real-life story of Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant laborer in the Gulf. The film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran alongside Jimmy Jean-Louis and K. R. Gokul, Talib Al Balushi, Rik Aby, Amala Paul and Shobha Mohan. The film was initially banned in the GCC countries other than UAE, subsequently the ban was lifted in all the countries except in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Alok Krishna, Wamiqa Gabbi, Mamta Mohandas, and Prakash Raj in lead roles. It marks the first regional Indian film production and distribution of Sony Pictures and the debut of Prithviraj Productions.

<i>The Goat Life</i> (soundtrack) 2024 soundtrack album by A. R. Rahman

The Goat Life is the soundtrack to the Malayalam-language survival drama film of the same name written, directed and co-produced by Blessy, and starred Prithviraj Sukumaran, which is an adaptation of the eponymous 2008 Malayalam novel by Benyamin. The six-song soundtrack composed by A. R. Rahman featured five songs with lyrics written by Rafeeq Ahamed and Rahman himself, along with an instrumental number. Vijay Yesudas, Chinmayi, Sana Moussa, Raja Hasan, Jithin Raj, Rakshita Suresh, Murtuza and Faiz Mustafa had also contributed vocals for the songs. The soundtrack was released on 17 March 2024 through Visual Romance Music.
