The Prix Yacowlef was formerly held in early August. It was switched to July and reverted to 1,000 metres in 2005. From 2016 the race moved to its current date and venue.

He was the leading French two-year-old of 1989 when he was unbeaten in three races including the Group One Prix Morny and Prix de la Salamandre. He later became a highly successful sire of winners.
Pas de Reponse was an American-bred, French-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. In 1996 she won three of her four races including the Cheveley Park Stakes and was named European Champion Two-year-old Filly at the Cartier Racing Awards. In the following year she won the Prix Imprudence and the Prix de Meautry and finished fourth when favourite for the classic 1000 Guineas. After an unsuccessful campaign in 1998 she was retired to stud where she had some success as a broodmare.
