Profronde van Tiel (English: Proftour of Tiel) is an elite men's and women's professional road bicycle racing event held annually in Tiel, Netherlands after the Tour de France. Since 2013 the event also includes a women's race. [1] In 2018 the organizers announced that the race would not be held in that year and would possibly not come back in the near future.

Leonardus Quirinus Machutus ("Leo") van Vliet was a professional racing cyclist from 1978 to 1986. He came in 40th in the road race at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Teun van Vliet is a retired road bicycle racer from the Netherlands, who was a professional rider from 1984 to 1990. Van Vliet's best year was 1987, when he won Gent–Wevelgem, Omloop "Het Volk" and the Ronde van Nederland. The next year he wore the yellow jersey for three days in the 1988 Tour de France. He is not related to Leo van Vliet, another famous Dutch road cyclist in the late 1970s, early 1980s.

Janneke Ensing is a Dutch cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Mitchelton–Scott. During her career, Ensing focused on cycling to a greater extent, resulting in two runner up places at Gent-Wevelgem as well as second in the Dutch National Championships of 2016 and second in the 2017 Santos Women's Tour.

Delta Profronde was a single-day road bicycle race held annually in June in Zeeland, Netherlands. In 2005, the race was organized as a 1.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour. It was previously known as Ronde van Midden-Zeeland and it was an amateur race between 1959 and 1973. In 2008, the organizers of the Delta Profronde and of the OZ Wielerweekend operated a fusion to create the stage race Delta Tour Zeeland.

Urs Zimmermann is a Swiss former professional road racing cyclist. He stood on the podium in two of the three Grand Tour events after finishing third in 1986 Tour de France and 1988 Giro d'Italia. Bobbie Traksel is a Dutch former professional racing cyclist. In 2000, Traksel showed considerable promise by winning the Under-23 version of the Tour of Flanders and turned professional in 2001 with Rabobank. In 2002, Traksel's surprise win at the Veenendaal–Veenendaal showed his speed and bicycle smarts. But Traksel's achievements in 2008, highlighted by winning the Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen garnered him wider respect in the cycling community. In 2010 he won Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne after a long breakaway. The race was heavily influenced by the weather. Many favourites retired from the race due to the cold weather, rain and wind. Traksel proved himself as a real fighter with this win.

The 2014 Boels Ladies Tour also known as the 2014 Holland Ladies Tour is the 17th edition of the Holland Ladies Tour, a women's cycle stage race in the Netherlands. The tour is part of the 2014 women's road cycling calendar and will be held from 2 September to 7 September. The tour has six stages, it starts with an individual trial over 10.1 km (6.3 mi) in Tiel and concludes with a hilly stage in Limburg. The tour has an UCI rating of 2.1.

The tour starts with the first stages in and around Tiel and concludes with a hilly stage in Limburg. The tour has an UCI rating of 2.1.

Alison Jackson (cyclist) Canadian cyclist

Alison Jackson is a Canadian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Team Sunweb. She rode in the women's team time trial at the 2015 UCI Road World Championships.
