Pura Purani T'uxu or Pura Purani Tuqu (Aymara pura pura Xenophyllum (or a species of it), [3] -ni a suffix to indicate ownership, "the one with the pura pura plant", t'uxu window or tuqu goitre, [4] also spelled Purapurani Thojo) is a 5,416-metre-high (17,769 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality. It lies northeast of Nasa Q'ara and north of a lake named Allqa Quta. The small lake northwest of the mountain is Khunu Quta ("snow lake"). [1] [5]

Aymara language native language in South America

Aymara is an Aymaran language spoken by the Aymara people of the Andes. It is one of only a handful of Native American languages with over one million speakers. Aymara, along with Spanish, is one of the official languages of Bolivia and parts of Peru. It is also spoken, to a much lesser extent, by some communities in northern Chile, where it is a recognized minority language.

Xenophyllum is a genus of flowering plant in the family Asteraceae. The genus was erected in 1997 for several species formerly treated in genus Werneria. These plants grow in the high mountains of the Andes.

Los Andes is one of the twenty provinces in the central parts of the Bolivian La Paz Department. The province was legally founded on November 24, 1917, during the presidency of José Gutiérrez Guerra. The Spanish name of the province means "The Andes", referring to its position within the Cordillera Real which is part of the Bolivian Andes mountain range. The capital of the province is Pucarani, which has a population of 918 as of the 2001 census. Ch'iyar Quta is a lake in the Cordillera Real of Bolivia situated in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality, Huayna Potosí Canton. It is situated at a height of about 4,700 metres (15,400 ft)near the peaks of Kunturiri and east of the lake Juri Quta.

Jacha Jawira (Los Andes)

Jach'a Jawira which downstream is named Japha Jawira is a Bolivian river east of Lake Titicaca in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality and in the Omasuyos Province, Achacachi Municipality. Its waters flow to Lake Titicaca via the Qiqa Jawira.

Warawarani (Bolivia)

Warawarani is an about 5,542-metre-high (18,182 ft) mountain at a small lake of the same name in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality, Chachacomani Canton. It is situated north and northwest of Phaq'u Kiwuta and Wila Lluxi and northeast of Qala T'uxu.

Qala Tuxu

Qala T'uxu or Qala Tuqu is a mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia, about 5,076 metres (16,654 ft) high. It is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality, Chachacomani Canton. It is situated south-west of the mountains Wila Lluxi and Warawarani and north-west of the mountain Phaq'u Kiwuta.

Kimsa Chata (Los Andes)

Kimsa Chata is a mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia, about 5,056 metres (16,588 ft) high. It is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality, Kirani Canton. It is situated south-west of the mountains Wila Lluxi, Warawarani and Phaq'u Kiwuta, between the mountain Qala T'uxu in the north and the lake Q'ara Quta in the south.

Nasa Q'ara is a 5,156-metre-high (16,916 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality. Nasa Q'ara is situated south-west of the mountain Chiqapa and north-east of the mountain Ch'iyar K'ark'a. It lies north of the lake Allqa Quta and south of a small lake named Khunu Quta.

Chiyar Tikhi

Ch'iyar T'ikhi is a mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia, about 5,092 metres (16,706 ft) high. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. Ch'iyar T'ikhi lies south-west of the mountain Jach'a Qullu, west of Qala T'uxu, north of Qullqi Chata and north-east of Taypi K'uchu. The rivers Pura Purani and Jayllawaya, both tributaries of Lake Titicaca, flow along its northern and southern slopes.

Jach'a T'uxu or Jach'a Tuqu is a 5,358-metre-high (17,579 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It lies in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. Jach'a T'uxu is situated southwest of Patapatani, northwest of Wari Sipitaña, southwest of T'uxu Loma and northeast of Wila Wilani.

It is situated in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality. Ch'iyar Qullu lies southwest of Tuni Lake, between the rivers Kunturiri in the north and Tuni in the south.

Tira Qullu

Tira Qullu is a 4,832-metre-high (15,853 ft) mountain in the western extension of the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality. Tira Qullu lies between the lakes Sura Quta and Taypi Chaka Quta in the west and Juri Quta in the east. It is situated south-west of the mountains Jach'a Jipiña and Milluni.

Allqa Quta is a lake in the Cordillera Real of Bolivia. It is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality. Allqa Quta lies northwest of the main peak of the Kunturiri massif. It is south of a mountain named Nasa Q'ara, north of Wawanaki and northeast of Ch'iyar K'ark'a and another mountain named Nasa Q'ara.

Jistaña

Jist'aña, also known as Pirámide Blanca, is a mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Bolivian Andes, about 5,260 metres (17,260 ft) high. It is situated in the La Paz Department, at the border of the Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality, and the Murillo Province, La Paz Municipality. Jist'aña lies between the mountain Kunturiri of the La Paz Municipality in the southeast and the peaks of Kunturiri of the Los Andes Province in the northwest. The rivers Kunturiri (Condoriri) and Jist'aña Jawira (Jistano Jahuira) originate near the mountain. Kunturiri River flows to Ch'iyar Quta, a lake southwest of Jist'aña, and Jist'aña Jawira which later is named Uma Pallqa (Uma Palca) flows to the northeast.

Nasa Qara (Wawanaki)

Nasa Q'ara is a 5,064-metre-high (16,614 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality, southwest of the lake Allqa Quta. Nasa Q'ara lies southwest of the main peak of the Kunturiri massif and Wawanaki and southeast of Ch'iyar K'ark'a.

Apachita Pura Pura is a mountain in the Apolobamba mountain range in Bolivia, about 5,360 metres (17,585 ft) high. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Franz Tamayo Province, Pelechuco Municipality, northwest of the mountain Rit'i Apachita and southeast of Chuquyu.

Maman Quta mountain in Bolivia

Maman Quta is a mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Bolivian Andes, about 5,160 metres (16,929 ft) high. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Murillo Province, La Paz Municipality. Mama Quta lies southeast of Qala Wathiyani.

Wintanani mountain in Bolivia

Wintanani is a 5,428-metre-high (17,808 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, in the northeastern part of the Batallas Municipality. Wintanani is situated southeast of Wila Lluxita, Mullu Apachita and Qulin Tuqu. It lies at the Jach'a Jawira valley with Janq'u Quta at its feet. Wila Lluxi and Phaq'u Kiwuta are opposite the mountain, beyond Jach'a Jawira.
