QFX are an electronic dance music group formed in 1992. Their music style is generally a mix of bouncy techno and happy hardcore.
The band members included are Kirk Turnbull (songwriter & producer), Heather Allan Finnie (vocals), Debbie Hudspeth Duncan (Stage Performer), Paul Giff (MC), David Goonery (Dancer), Jacob Callaghan (DJ / Producer). The band are joined on stage by Amy Davies, Lauren Black, Jackie nicoal. Previous members include, Neil Trotter MC, Steven Lawes MC, Debbie Hudspeth (vocals), Stevie Scott (dancer from 2000 to 2002), David Walker (dancer/remixer and DJ), Barry Brown (dancer), and Brian Nelly (dancer), Natalie Estelle James (vocals), and Neil Trotter (MC) In December 1994, they released their first album, entitled Freedom. [1] It reached number 5 in the UK Indie Chart. Freedom stayed on that Top 20 list for fourteen weeks. In January 1996, QFX covered the Moby track, "Everytime You Touch Me", which propelled QFX into the UK Singles Chart at number 22 and Scottish Singles Chart at number 2. [2] This led to an appearance on BBC Television's Top of the Pops . In July 1996, the band released "You Got The Power", which reached #33 in the same UK chart. [2] QFX also remixed songs for other musicians, including Gala with "Freed from Desire", which reached No. 2 in the UK in 1997.
QFX released Seven albums, [1] and had 8 UK Top 40 hit singles, [2] including a Scottish Singles Chart #1 single with "Freedom 2" in January 1997. They were featured on over 20 compilation albums worldwide.[ citation needed ].
In early 2010, they released QFX The Anthems 1995 -2010, which included all their hits, plus their remixes and featured special guest remixes, producers, and vocalists. [3]
In 2015, QFX are still doing a Live PA, with original members Kirk Turnbull, Heather Allan Finnie, David Goonery, with their new MC Paul Giff (joined 2018). The band are currently touring the UK, celebrating their 30th year since they formed, including headlining many music and dance festivals. [4]
QFX launched Dance Anthems in March 2013 and have spent the last few years touring the UK with their brand new stage show. The concept of the show incorporates QFX covers of the best dance tracks in the club scene from the 1990s and early 2000s, as well as updated mixes of QFX tracks and originals. An album entitled "Dance Anthems" was released later in that year.

Sister Sledge is an American musical vocal group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Formed in 1971, the group consisted of sisters Debbie, Joni, Kim, and Kathy Sledge. The siblings achieved international success at the height of the disco era. In 1979, they released their breakthrough album We Are Family, which peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 and included the 1979 US top-10 singles "He's the Greatest Dancer" and "We Are Family". "We Are Family" earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
Rosie Gaines is an American singer, songwriter and record producer from Pittsburg, California. Gaines is a former band member of Prince's group the New Power Generation. She duetted with singer Prince on the hit song "Diamonds and Pearls". She released a number of dance hits, the most notable being "Closer Than Close", which made the top 10 on the UK Singles Chart in 1997.
"Just" is a song by the English rock band Radiohead, included on their second album, The Bends (1995). It was released as a single on 21 August 1995 and reached number 19 on the UK Singles Chart.
"Not Over Yet" is a song by British dance act Grace. Originally released in 1993 under the band name State of Grace, it was re-released in March 1995 as the first single from their only album, If I Could Fly (1996). It received critical acclaim from music critics, peaking at number six on the UK Singles Chart and number-one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. Lead vocals and backing vocals were performed by singer Patti Low. In 1995, the lead vocals were replaced by new frontwoman and singer, Dominique Atkins for the album release, although Low's backing vocals remained in place. This Atkins/Low combination appeared on all subsequent re-releases and remixes of the track. The woman who appears in the accompanying music video is Low.
"Yes Sir, I Can Boogie" is a 1977 hit single by the Spanish vocal duo Baccara. Written by Frank Dostal and Rolf Soja, and produced by Soja, this song was a hit across Europe and became the duo's sole number one single in the United Kingdom, spending a single week at the top of the UK Singles Chart in October 1977.

Blood Red Shoes are an English alternative rock duo from Brighton consisting of Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell. They have released six full-length albums, Box of Secrets (2008), Fire Like This (2010), In Time to Voices (2012), Blood Red Shoes (2014), Get Tragic (2019) and Ghosts on Tape (2022) as well as several EPs and a number of singles. In 2014, they founded their own label, Jazz Life.
"Sexy! No No No..." is a song by British girl group Girls Aloud from their fourth studio album, Tangled Up (2007). In April 2007, the group announced that they would release a new album, due in November of that year. In July 2007, it was announced that "Sexy! No No No...", due to be released in September, would be as the first single from Tangled Up, with a radio premiere scheduled for 20 July. The track leaked a few hours prior to the premiere. "Sexy! No No No..." was written by Girls Aloud and Xenomania, and is an electropunk song that incorporates a sample of Nazareth's 1975 song "Hair of the Dog", for which they received a writing credit. Composed of three songs welded together, the song avoids the verse-chorus form present in most contemporary pop music, similar to their previous single "Biology" (2005).
"Teardrops" is a song by American husband-and-wife duo Womack & Womack, released on 5 August 1988 by Island Records as the first single from their fourth studio album, Conscience (1988). The song was written by Womack & Womack, while production was helmed by Chris Blackwell. Although the song was not a hit in their native United States, it charted highly in the United Kingdom and several European countries, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
The discography of Bloc Party, a British indie rock band, consists of six studio albums, three extended plays (EPs), and two remix albums released on primary label Wichita Recordings. Bloc Party were formed in 1999 by chief songwriter and frontman Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack. Bassist Gordon Moakes and drummer Matt Tong joined the band later. The first song by them that we know of is called “This Is Not A Competition” although it hasn't been officially released, it was the first song the band put on their official website. The quartet's first release was the Bloc Party EP in 2004; the first single, "She's Hearing Voices", was released and it failed to chart in the United Kingdom. The next EP, Little Thoughts was released the same year only in Japan; it included Bloc Party's first UK Top 40 entry, the double A-side "Little Thoughts/Tulips", which peaked at number 38.

"Spectrum" is a song by English indie rock band Florence and the Machine from their second studio album Ceremonials (2011). It was written by lead singer Florence Welch and Paul Epworth with production being handled by Epworth. The band premiered the song during a concert at Brooklyn's Creators Project on 15 October 2011, prior to the release of the album. The album version of "Spectrum" is a downtempo orchestral pop, dance-pop and disco song. The accompanying music video for the song premiered on 30 May 2012. It was directed by David LaChapelle and John Byrne.
"Next to Me" is a song by Scottish recording artist Emeli Sandé. The single was first released in Ireland on 10 February 2012 as the third single from her debut studio album, Our Version of Events (2012). The song was written by the band with Henrik Jonback and Juliet Richardson. Band members Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg of the production duo Bloodshy & Avant had conceptualized the chorus before forming the band with Andrew Wyatt in 2007, but saved the idea for the Miike Snow project rather than offering it to another artist. "Black & Blue" is a blue-eyed soul and electronica song that is sung in a breathy falsetto style with piano and synthesizer instrumentation.
Sirens is the debut studio album by English electronic music production duo Gorgon City. It was released on 6 October 2014. The album features vocals from Katy B and Jennifer Hudson among others, and writing credits from Kiesza and Emeli Sandé among others. The album debuted at number 10 on the UK Albums Chart.
"Desire" is a song by English synthpop band Years & Years from their debut studio album, Communion (2015). It was released on 23 November 2014 as the album's third single. Written by Years & Years and Kid Harpoon, the song peaked at number 22 on the UK Singles Chart.
