The Queen's Lawn is a green lawned area situated at the centre of Imperial College London's South Kensington campus, [1] [2] next to the Queen's Tower and immediately to the north of Imperial College Road. It provides an open space of 1,600 sq metres, and is surrounded by the Abdus Salam Library, and the Sherfield administration, Chemistry, and Skempton buildings. [3] It is often the site of college events, including student bands, fairs, and balls, as well as student activism. [4] [5] [6]
In April 2006, the Imperial College student newspaper Felix reported that the college was seeking permission of Westminster City Council to develop part of the lawn into a three-storey modular building, however this has not come to pass. [7] A weekly farmer's market is held on Tuesdays, [8] and Queen's Lawn was also the site of a world record attempt for the largest jelly mosaic. [9]
A diagonal path was built across the lawn in 2021. [10]

The Union is based in the north wing of the Beit Quadrangle on Prince Consort Road. Based on the latest reports from the Charity Commission, the Union as a registered charity had an income of £5.55m and an expenditure of £8.49m; leaving Imperial College Union with a negative deficit of £3m as of 2022.

Morley College is a specialist adult education and further education college in London, England. The college has three main campuses, one in Waterloo on the South Bank, and two in West London namely in North Kensington and in Chelsea, the latter two joining following a merger with Kensington and Chelsea College in 2020. There are also smaller centres part of the college elsewhere. Morley College is also a registered charity under English law. It was originally founded in the 1880s and has a student population of 11,000 adult students. The Queen's Tower is a 287-foot (87 m) tower topped with a copper-covered dome. It is situated in the South Kensington Campus of Imperial College London, England, just to the north of Imperial College Road. To reach the base of the dome from the ground on foot, one must ascend a series of narrow spiral staircases, comprising 325 steps in total. The tower used to be the central tower of the Imperial Institute, and is now the sole remaining part of that building.

Imperial College London's student accommodation comprises 23 halls of residence around West London, primarily South Kensington and North Acton. Accommodation is primarily for first-year undergraduates, although some halls exist for returning students, who may also return as "hall seniors" with operational responsibilities. Halls are run by wardens and subwardens, who are postgraduates or junior academics. Silwood Park halls are postgraduate, but only cater for students studying on site.

The Department of Chemistry is responsible for chemistry teaching and research at Imperial College London. The department is one of the largest in the UK with around 63 academic staff, 10 teaching fellows, 95 postdoctoral research scientists and research fellows and 1150 students, including 240 PhD students,150 MRes students and around 750 students studying undergraduate courses. This community is further supported by over 45 support and administrative staff. The department is based across two sites.
The Abdus Salam Library is the main academic and research library of Imperial College London. The current library opened in August 1969, taking over from the original Lyon Playfair Library which had opened in 1959. The collection grew out of earlier libraries of the various departments and colleges, the oldest collection of which dates back to 1845. The Central Library is the largest of the 7 libraries at Imperial with its collection covering all of the college's research departments, forming the main reference library for the college. It is situated on Queen's Lawn next to Imperial College Road, and across from Queen's Tower.
