North Goa is one of the two districts that make up the state of Goa in India. The district has an area of 1736 km², and is bounded by Kolhapur district andSindhudurg district of Maharashtra state to the north and by Belgaum district of Karnataka to the east, by South Goa district to the south, and by the Arabian Sea to the west.
Arambol is a traditional fisherman village, located approximately a 90 minutes drive from Dabolim Airport (GOI) within the Pernem administrative region of North Goa, India. The beach attracts many international tourists, mainly during the winter season between November and March. Arambol beach is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Goa, bordering Keri Beach to the north and Mandrem Beach to the south. Located 43 km (27 mi) north of Goa's capital city of Panaji, Arambol has a population of around 5,300.
Pernem is a northmost administrative region or sub-district in North Goa.It acts as the Gateway of Goa from Maharashtra side. It is also the name of the town of Pernem, which is its headquarters. It has a Municipal Council. Geographically, Pernem is surrounded by Sawantwadi sub-district on East, Arabian Sea on West, Bardez and Bicholim sub-district on south and Sawantwadi sub-district on north. The two rivers which decide the boundary of this sub-district are Terekhol River and Chapora River. Terekhol river acts as a border of Maharashtra and Goa while Chapora river acts as a border of Pernem sub-district and Bardez sub-district.
Vagator Beach is the northernmost beach of Bardez Taluka, Goa. It is across the Chapora River from Morjim in Pernem. To the south of Vagator is Anjuna, one of the first hippie haunts of Goa.

Tilari (Forebay) Dam is situated in Dodamarg Taluka, in the Indian state of Maharashtra and the largest one is situated in Chandgad taluk of Kolhapur District in Maharashtra and is constructed on Tilari River as the result of a joint project by the Maharashtra and Goa governments. The water from this dam is distributed to both states. The dam is located near the border of Maharashtra and Karnataka and necessitated the relocation of several villages in the area. There are many reservoirs. The largest one is located near Belgaum in a village named Hajgoli in Maharashtra. The village is approximately 30 km from Belgaum and is a weekend spot for the people of that town.
Chapora Fort, located in Bardez, Goa, rises high above the Chapora River. The site was the location of a fort built by Muslim ruler Adil Shah called Shahpura, whose name the Portuguese altered to Chapora. It is now become a popular tourist spot and offers a view north across the Chapora river to Pernem, south over Vagator and also far out to the Arabian Sea in the West.
The Terekhol River is a river in western India. In its upper reaches it is known as the Banda River and in the lower reaches as the Tiracol. It forms the boundary between Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra state and North Goa district of Goa state for some distance. The Tiracol rises in the environs of the Manohargad in the Western Ghats and flows in a south-westerly direction to meet the Arabian Sea.

Querim Beach is the sandy coastline of the Querim village of Pernem, Goa. It is the largest northernmost beach in Goa. The beach comprises a long stretch of sand with a few rocky outcrops, rows of trees and a river inlet of Tiracol River. It is located to the north of the Arambol beach, but in order to reach there by foot, one has to walk through the hill and jungle between the Paliem Sweet Water Lake and Querim Beach. Querim is 30 Kilometers from Mapusa. From the north side of Querim beach, one can see a restaurant and bar on a high hill on the Tiracol side of the Tiracol River. There is also a resort by the name "Hotel Hill Rock" next to it, which is known for its peaceful atmosphere and has a small but well equipped Bistro on the property. On the highest most cliff at the Tiracol side is the Fort Tiracol, which is now converted into a heritage hotel.
Pirna is a village in the North Goa sub-district or taluka of Bardez and is located in the northern edge of the sub-district. It is close to the Colvale river and is the home of the 150-metre long Pirna-Ozarim bridge at Thorli Chandai. The bridge connects Pirna in Bardez taluka with Pernem taluka. It was inaugurated in May 2006.
Boma is a village in the Ponda taluka (sub-district) of Goa. It is located in the northern part of Ponda taluka. One encounters Boma village along the road connecting state-capital Panjim with the taluka headquarters of Ponda town.
Tiracol is a village on the river right mouth of the Tiracol River and part of the Pernem Sub-Division of North Goa. Due to its location, it is geographically separated from Goa by land making it a Goan exclave in Maharashtra.It also happens to be the North-Western most point of the state.
