Chaudhary Charan Singh, better known as Chaudhary Charan Singh was an Indian politician and a freedom fighter. Singh was principally known for his land and agricultural reform initiatives. He briefly served as the 5th prime minister of India from July 1979 to August 1979 and was Member of Parliament (MP) for Baghpat. During prime ministership he was a member of the Janata Party (Secular). He served as 5th Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh as a member of Bhartiya Kranti Dal. He also briefly served as deputy prime minister of India from January 1979 to July 1979 as a member of the Janata Party. Singh is widely regarded as the "Champion of farmers", after his life has been dedicated to advocating for the wellbeing and rights of farmers.

Erambala Krishnan Nayanar was an Indian politician who served as the 9th chief minister of Kerala from 1980 to 1981, 1987 to 1991 and again from 1996 to 2001. He served in that position for a total of 10 years, 11 months and 22 days, thus making him the longest-served Chief Minister of Kerala. Kuruvannil Govindan Marar was an Indian social worker and politician, who served as the State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kerala, India. He was also known as Mararji. He was the third son among four children of Narayana Marar and Nayan Marsyar. By profession, he was a teacher at Government School Parassinikadavu, located near the famous Parassinikadavu Muthappan Temple in Kannur. He left his profession to become a full-time social worker. Arrested during the Indian Emergency from 25 June 1975 to 21 March 1977, he was imprisoned for 18 months. After his release, Marar became the leader of the Janata party and the District President of Kannur. In 1980, Marar became the State Secretary of the BJP. He was very active in Kerala politics and held various positions, including State General Secretary and State President of the BJP. He actively represented the BJP in various elections, the last one being in 1991 where he was defeated by a margin of 1000 votes from the Manjeshwar constituency. His body was cremated at Payyambalam beach, Kannur.
Sri. P. N. Karunakaran, popularly known as Kambisseri Karunakaran was an Indian journalist who wrote in Malayalam language. He was the chief editor of Janayugam Daily, Balayugam, the Novel Pathippu, Cine Rama, and Janayugam Varika (Weekly), a group of publications in Malayalam language, owned by the Communist Party of India. Beside being a journalist he was a politician, writer, orator, actor, satirist, atheist and rationalist.
C. Divakaran is an Indian politician, from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He is a State Executive Member of Communist Party of India (CPI), and National Working Committee Member of All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC). A former Minister of Food and Civil Supplies in the Government of Kerala.
