The Abnaki-class tug is a class of United States Navy fleet ocean tugs which began construction in November 1942. Comprising 22 oceangoing tugboats, the class was constructed in response to the needs of World War II, but members of the class served in the Korean War and Vietnam War as well. The United States Navy no longer has any ships of this class in active duty.

Spicy Teacher is a 2000 Taiwanese drama starring William Hsieh, Ye Min-Zhi, Jade Chia, Jean Kuo, Tu Shih-Mei. It is the first school life comedy in Taiwanese television, inspired by the Japanese manga series Great Teacher Onizuka by Tooru Fujisawa. It is the longest broadcast school life comedy and the school life comedy series with the most episodes in Taiwan. It became the television show with the most re-runs in Taiwan. Since it is a light comedy set in high school, it became a popular show for new actors with little prior acting experience to start their careers. Various actors, such as Jerry Yan, Lan Cheng-lung, Will Pan, Ady An, and Weber Yang, later went on to become successful in the industry, so the show is often called an "Idol maker" or "Idol workshop".
USS LST-755 was a LST-542-class tank landing ship in the United States Navy during World War II. She was commissioned in 1944 and participated in the Philippines campaign before being decommissioned in 1946. That year, she was transferred to the Republic of China Navy as ROCS Chung Hai (LST-201).
USS LST-503 was a LST-491-class tank landing ship in the United States Navy during World War II. She was transferred to the Republic of China Navy as ROCS Chung Kuang (LST-216).
USS Shakori (ATF-162) is an Abnaki-class tugboat that saw service during the World War II and Cold War. She was later sold to Republic of China (Taiwan) as ROCS Da Tai (ATF-563). Her namesake was a small Indian tribe which originally inhabited an area near the present site of Durham, North Carolina. She was decommissioned from Taiwanese service in 2023 and sunk as a target ship in 2024.
"Island's Sunrise" is a Taiwanese Hokkien song created by the punk rock band Fire EX. and the Taipei National University of the Arts for the Sunflower Student Movement in 2014. The inception of the song can be attributed to Wu Dar-Kuen (吳達坤) and Chen Ching-Yuan (陳敬元) from the Taipei National University of the Arts, who approached Fire EX. to compose the song. Working in conjunction with the planning team, Fire EX. brought the song to life, resulting in the production of a documentary version and an animated version of the music video, with contributions from animation students. Furthermore, the song was subsequently adapted for orchestra. Demonstrating their support for the Sunflower Student Movement, Fire EX. granted the copyright of both "Goodnight! Formosa!" and "Island's Sunrise" for non-commercial use by individuals who endorse the movement. The song was also widely regarded as one of the key songs of the Sunflower Student Movement and was officially banned in China. Released as a single by Sony Music Entertainment in Taiwan on December 30, 2014, and won Best Song of the Year at the 26th Golden Melody Awards the following year.
Su Chii-cherng was a Taiwanese diplomat. He took over as the director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Osaka on July 8, 2018. On September 14 of the same year, he committed suicide by hanging in Japan at the age of 61, allegedly in response to criticism of the office's response to Typhoon Jebi amplified by pro-China disinformation.

The legislative draft for diverse families refers to the draft law of the Republic of China (Taiwan) regarding amending the civil bill (law) involving marriage and family systems to promote gender equality. It originated from Taiwanese society's emphasis on issues related to gender equality in the 1990s. Later, during the Presidency of Ma Ying-jeou, social groups concerned about gender equality promoted the amendment of the law, which is a part of "Gender mainstreaming." With the implementation of some laws and policies that are relatively less controversial, issues under review are often summarized and commonly referred to as "diversity families". The content includes three bills such as the Marriage Equality Bill, the Partnership System Draft, and the Dependent System Draft. Currently, among them The legalization of same-sex marriage and the right to adopt children have attracted the most public attention and comments.The three drafts are independent of each other and were submitted to the Legislative Yuan for review at the same time. Among them, the marriage equality draft first obtained enough co-signatories from the legislators and passed the Reading (legislature) on October 25, 2013, and was handed over to the judiciary. and the Legislative Affairs Commission's review, the draft partnership system and the draft family system are still in the stage of private initiative.
