Red Velvet concert chronology

R to V (stylized as Red Velvet 4th Concert 'R to V') was the fourth concert tour headlined by South Korean girl group Red Velvet, in support of their The ReVe Festival 2022 EPs Feel My Rhythm and Birthday . The tour begins on April 1, 2023, in Seoul, South Korea and conclude on June 6, 2023 in London, United Kingdom. The tour consists of 11 concerts in 9 cities in 9 countries around Asia and Europe. It also marks the group's first in-person concert tour in three years since the "La Rouge Tour".

Background

Prior to the release of The ReVe Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm, Red Velvet planned to hold special live concert "2022 The ReVe Festival: Prologue" at the SK Olympic Handball Stadium on March 19 to 20, [1] but was canceled after members Irene, Joy, and Yeri were tested positive for COVID-19. [2]

On March 3, 2023, SM Entertainment announced the tour titled "R to V" would begin from April 1, 2023, starting with two shows in Seoul, [3] before heading to Singapore on April 21, followed by two shows in Japan on May 3 and 4, Philippines on May 7, two shows in Bangkok on May 13 and 14, Jakarta on May 20, Paris on May 24, Berlin on May 27, Amsterdam on May 30, and ending in London on June 6. [4]

On April 26, it was announced that Joy would take a break due her poor health condition with the remaining shows continuing as a four-member group. [5] On May 12, it was announced that Bangkok shows would be postponed indefinitely after Wendy was tested positive for COVID-19. [6] On May 31, it was announced that Bangkok shows would be canceled due to rescheduling issues. [7] A concert photobook of the R to V tour will be released on January 18, 2024. [8]

Introduction

The concert was themed "R to V", presenting a bright and breezy "Red" style and a capable "Velvet" style stage. [9]

Reception

The Guardian gave the Wembley Arena concert in London five stars out of five, writing that "Despite Joy's absence, the show doesn't suffer. The perfection is mesmerising: even though their music is the kind that gets you moving, this is a theatrical spectacle you sit down to watch." [10] WhyNow gave the same concert four stars out of five. [11]

<i>The Liar and His Lover</i> (TV series) South Korean TV series

The Liar and His Lover is a South Korean television series starring Lee Hyun-woo and Park Soo-young with Lee Jung-jin, Lee Seo-won and Hong Seo-young. The drama is based on the popular Japanese manga Kanojo wa Uso o Aishisugiteru by Kotomi Aoki. It aired on tvN every Monday and Tuesday at 23:00 (KST) starting from March 20, 2017. The series was also released internationally on Netflix starting from October 1, 2019.

Kim Ye-rim, better known by her stage name Yeri, is a South Korean singer and actress. She is a member of South Korean girl group Red Velvet. Aside from her music career, Yeri hosted Show! Music Core (2015) and The Viewable SM (2016). Yeri also appeared on variety show Secret Unnie (2018) and Law of the Jungle in Thailand (2019). In 2020, Yeri hosted her first reality-variety show Yeri's Room, which aired through the YouTube channel Dum Dum Studio.

Perfect Velvet is the second studio album by South Korean girl group Red Velvet. Released by SM Entertainment on November 17, 2017, the record incorporates R&B, soul and hip-hop with influences from future bass, trap and synth-pop, and saw contributions from various songwriters and production teams. The album is a portrayal of the group's "velvet" concept, making it their second major release to follow this sonic direction since their second extended play, The Velvet (2016). "Red Flavor" is a song recorded by South Korean girl group Red Velvet for their first Korean special extended play, The Red Summer (2017). It was released as the lead single from the EP on July 9, 2017, through SM Entertainment and was distributed by Genie Music, along with the accompanying fruit-infused music video. Written by SM collaborator Kenzie and composed by Daniel Caesar and Ludwig Lindell, it is primarily a dance-pop song with synths and percussion. The song reflects the summer funky vibe, while the lyrics hint towards a young relationship with summer references. A Japanese version of the song, adapted by songwriter Kami Kaoru, was later included on the group's first Japanese EP, #Cookie Jar, on July 4, 2018.

"Russian Roulette" is a song by South Korean girl group Red Velvet for their third extended play of the same name. Written by Jo Yoon-kyung and produced by Albi Albertsson, Belle Humble and Markus Lindell, it is primarily an 8-bit influenced synth-pop and dance-pop song which lyrically compares the process of winning someone's heart to a game of Russian roulette. The song was released as the lead single on September 7, 2016, by SM Entertainment along with an accompanying cartoon-themed music video which saw the group mimicking cartoon tricks to pull a prank and harm each other as the video progressed.

<i>The ReVe Festival: Day 1</i> 2019 EP by Red Velvet

The ReVe Festival: Day 1 is the third special extended play and the tenth overall by South Korean girl group Red Velvet. Released on June 19, 2019, through SM Entertainment, the extended play served as the first installation of the group's The ReVe Festival trilogy, which was later followed by Day 2 and Finale. An electro-pop and dance-pop record, the EP contains six tracks that sees the group exploring new genres. Its production was handled by various songwriters and production teams, including Caesar & Loui, Ollipop, Moonshine, Trinity Music, Ylva Dimberg, Cazzi Opeia, Ryan S. Jhun, amongst others.

"Hello" is a remake song recorded by South Korean singer and Red Velvet member Joy. Originally recorded and released by singer Park Hye-kyung in 2003, the song was re-recorded and was released on May 31, 2021, by SM Entertainment as a title track from her special remake album of the same name. Composed by Kang Hyun-min and also written by him along with Park Hye-kyung and Park Ji-won, the track was described as a modern rock genre song. It is about forgetting the hard days and celebrating a new day. The song peaked at position 10 on the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard K-Pop Hot 100.

"Day by Day" is a remake song recorded by South Korean singer and Red Velvet member Joy. Originally recorded and released by female duo As One in 1999, the song was re-recorded and was released on May 31, 2021, by SM Entertainment as a track from her special remake album, Hello. Composed by Shim Sang-won and written by Yoon Sa-rah, it is an emotional medium tempo R&B ballad song. The track is about expressing courage little by little to people who have been by her side for a long time. The song debuted at position 108 on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart and charted at position 99 on the Billboard K-Pop 100.

Queendom is the sixth Korean extended play and twelfth overall by South Korean girl group Red Velvet. Marketed as the group's sixth "mini album" release, it consists of six tracks, including the lead single of the same name.
