Rabindra Shiksha Sammillani Law College (RSSLC) is a private or self-financing law college situated at Subhashgram, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. This college is affiliated to the University of Calcutta. [1] It offers a 5-year Integrated Course in Law leading to B.A. LL.B. degree approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), New Delhi. [2] [3]
The college was established by the Rabindra Shiksha Sammillani Samity, a charitable society registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act - XXVI of 1961 in 2003. [2]
The Samity was formed in the memory of Late Rabindra Mohan Chakraborty, "by a few academicians, having significant contribution to the field of education in general and Legal education in particular and some social activists burning with the desire to serve the society and implement the philosophy of 'selfless action', fondly propounded by Indian culture". [2] The society started functioning under the guidance of Late Padmashri Professor Ramaranjan Mukherji.[ citation needed ]
RSSLC was inaugurated in 2008 by Hon'ble Justice Ranganath Mishra, Former Chief Justice of India.
This college offers a 5-Year Integrated B.A. LL.B. program, which requires candidates to have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks, along with qualifying in the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the University of Calcutta. Eligibility criteria for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and Physically Challenged categories are relaxed by the norms set by the University.
