Radio Radio is a Canadian electro hip-hop band formed in 2007 from Clare, Nova Scotia, and Moncton, New Brunswick Canada. The duo rap in Chiac, an Acadian French dialect.
The hip-hop/rap group Jacobus et Maleco, from Clare in St. Mary's Bay, Nova Scotia, was formed in 2001 by Jacques Alphonse Doucet alias Jacobus, Marc Comeau alias Maleco, and Alexandre Bilodeau alias DJ Alexandre. After the departure of Maleco, the decision was made to change the name of the group to Radio Radio. [1]
Radio Radio released their first EP entitled Télé-Télé in 2007. During their promotional tour in Montréal, they were interviewed on Christiane Charette's radio show broadcast on la Première Chaîne.
In April 2008, the band released their first full-length album Cliché Hot on Bonsound Records. They received a nomination in the "Revelation of the year" (Révélation de l'année) category, at the Félix Award gala, where they also performed.
Radio Radio composed a song and produced a video for the special end-of-year presentation of Infoman , a television program hosted by Jean-René Dufort, which was broadcast on Radio-Canada.
In 2010, Radio Radio released a second album, Belmundo Regal on label Bonsound Records, which was on the short list for the 2010 Polaris Music Prize. [2] They also won the Miroir Award (Prix Miroir) for Urban and Contemporary Music at the Quebec City Summer Festival (Festival d'été de Québec). [3] In January 2011, Radio Radio won The 10th Annual Independent Music Awards in the Electro/Hip-Hop category for Belmundo Regal. [4]
In 2012, Radio Radio won best hip hop album at the ADISQ and East-Coast music awards for their third album Havre de Grace. HdG was made possible by collaborating with outside collaborators: Horace Trahan in Louisiana and Renji Condoré a.k.a. Mamoru Kobayakawa who co-wrote most of the songs on the album with Alexandre Bilodeau a.k.a. Arthur Comeau a.k.a. Zander McQuigan a.k.a. Nom de Plume.
Radio Radio have played and will be seen playing in festivals such as Les FrancoFolies de Montréal, Osheaga 2008, South by Southwest 2010, the 2010 Winter Olympics, Festival International de Louisiane in Lafayette and many more. The band has also played at Woodstock. In 2013, they were one of the closing acts for the Canada Day Festivities in Ottawa.
In February 2014, Radio Radio were invited musical guests on SNL Québec's premiere show. The show aired on February 8, 2014, with guest host Louis-José Houde.
The group released Light the Sky, its first fully-English album, in 2016. [5]
The music of Canada's Maritime provinces has included many artists from both the traditional and pop genres, and is mostly European in origin. Loco Locass are a Canadian hip hop group from Quebec formed in 1995. The group often defends the role of the French language, and champions Quebec sovereignty. Songs such as "ROC Rap" and "Résistance" highlight the band's political leanings, and their strong advocacy for Quebec to be an independent country. Their song "Le But" was previously used as the goal song of the Montreal Canadiens and was played after every goal the Canadiens scored at the Bell Centre until the start of the 2017-18 NHL Season. "Le But" was recently brought back as the Canadiens' victory song.

Incognito is the eighth French-language studio album by Canadian singer Celine Dion and her first album on a major record label. It was released by CBS Records on 2 April 1987 in Quebec, Canada. The album features eight songs produced by Jean Roussel, Aldo Nova, and Pierre Bazinet. Six songs were released as singles in Quebec and all of them reached the top five on the Quebec Airplay Chart, including four number ones: "Incognito", "Lolita ", "Comme un cœur froid" and "D'abord, c'est quoi l'amour". Incognito was certified two-times Platinum in Canada and has sold over 500,000 copies worldwide. It topped the chart in Quebec for five weeks.

He won a Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year in 2011 and five of his albums have been shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize, the most short-list nominations of any artist in the prize's history. In 2013, CBC Music named Shad the second-greatest Canadian rapper of all time. Shad hosted Q on CBC Radio One from 2015 to 2016, and hosts the International Emmy and Peabody Award-winning documentary series Hip-Hop Evolution on HBO Canada and Netflix.

Joseph Achakji and better known by his stage name XLA is a Canadian urban indie artist and more recently an Electronic dance music (EDM) artist of Egyptian origin In 2006, he also established the independent music production and record label XWide Tidals. He sings mainly in French and English, but also occasionally in Spanish and Arabic. He has collaborated with a number of EDM DJs and producers notably in Mexico (EMPO) and Spain. Besides vocals, he plays guitar, piano, keyboards, drums and tabla. He is also a digital marketer and manages a number of up and coming artists.

Dead Obies is an experimental hip hop band originating from South Shore, Quebec, Canada, that was formed in 2011 by a collective of five MCs: Jo RCA, Yes McCan, Snail Kid, 20Some and O.G. Bear, and Quebec producer Vince Carter. The group identifies itself as post-rap. They are signed to the independent label Bonsound.
Pierre Kwenders is the stage name of José Louis Modabi, a Congolese-Canadian musician. His 2014 album Le Dernier empereur bantou was a shortlisted nominee for the Juno Award for World Music Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2015, and a longlisted nominee for the 2015 Polaris Music Prize. Kwenders, who sings and raps in English, French, Lingala and Tshiluba, is noted for blending both African music and western pop music influences, including hip hop and electronic music, into his style.
