Raj Bhavan (translation: Government House) is the official residence of the governor of Telangana located in the city of Hyderabad, India. It is located at Somajiguda adjacent to Hussain Sagar lake.
It was designed and constructed in 1936 by Eric Marrett and Zain Yar Jung, during the reign of the last Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan. The land area is about 21.50 acres (8.4 hectares).
The Nizam's Government acquired this estate of Nawab Shahzore Jung and Sayyad Akil Bilgrami for the Prime Minister's official residence of Princely state of Hyderabad. the estate consisted of two older buildings at the place where the present Durbar Hall is located. These were pulled down to make room for the subsequent new structures.
The earliest occupant of the Durbar Hall building was Sir Akbar Hydari, the Prime Minister of Hyderabad State from 1936 to 1941. But he stayed here for a short period and shifted his residence to an adjacent building which is now known as Dilkusha Guest House.
Subsequent Prime Ministers to stay here were the Nawab of Chattari (1941-1946 and May–November, 1947), Sir Mirza Ismail (August 1946 to May 1947), Sir Mehdi Yar Jung (November–December, 1947) and Mir Laik Ali, President of the Council of Interim Government (1947–48).
Shah Manzil, one of the pre-1914 building in Raj bhavan estate, is an architectural landmark and currently used as the office of the Advisors to Governor of Telangana.
Hyderabad State was a princely state in the south-central Deccan region of India with its capital at the city of Hyderabad. It is now divided into the present-day state of Telangana, the Kalyana-Karnataka region of Karnataka, and the Marathwada region of Maharashtra in India.
Nizam of Hyderabad was the title of the ruler of Hyderabad State. Nizam is a shortened form of Niẓām ul-Mulk, which means Administrator of the Realm, and was the title bestowed upon Asaf Jah I when he was appointed Viceroy of the Deccan by the Mughal Emperor Farrukhsiyar. In addition to being the Mughal Viceroy (Naib) of the Deccan, Asaf Jah I was also the premier courtier of the Mughal Empire until 1724, when he established the independent monarchy of Hyderabad and adopted the title "Nizam of Hyderabad".
Asaf Jah VI, also known as Sir Mir Mahboob Ali Khan Siddiqi Bayafandi, was the ninth Nizam of Hyderabad. He ruled Hyderabad State, one of the princely states of India, between 1869 and 1911.
Mir Osman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII was the last Nizam (ruler) of the Princely State of Kingdom of Hyderabad, the largest state in British India. He ascended the throne on 29 August 1911, at the age of 25 and ruled the Kingdom of Hyderabad between 1911 and 1948, until India annexed it. He was styled as His Exalted Highness (H.E.H) the Nizam of Hyderabad, and was widely considered one of the world's wealthiest people of all time. With some estimates placing his wealth at 2% of U.S. GDP, his portrait was on the cover of Time magazine in 1937. As a semi-autonomous monarch, he had his mint, printing his currency, the Hyderabadi rupee, and had a private treasury that was said to contain £100 million in gold and silver bullion, and a further £400 million of jewels. The major source of his wealth was the Golconda mines, the only supplier of diamonds in the world at that time. Among them was the Jacob Diamond, valued at some £50 million, and used by the Nizam as a paperweight.
The Telangana High Court is the High Court for the Indian state of Telangana. Founded by the 7th Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan, initially, it was set up as High Court of Hyderabad for the then Princely State of Hyderabad Deccan and later renamed High Court of Andhra Pradesh, as it was set up on 5 November 1956 under the States Reorganisation Act, 1956. The Andhra Pradesh High Court was renamed as High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad in view of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh state.
Paigah family was a noble family from the former Hyderabad State. The family maintained their own court, individual palaces, and a standing army of about fourteen thousand infantry and cavalry troops.

The Asaf Jahi was a Muslim dynasty that ruled the Hyderabad State. The family came to India in the late 17th century and became employees of the Mughal Empire. They were great patrons of Persian culture, language, and literature, and the family found ready patronage.
Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan, Salar Jung III (1889–1949), commonly known as Salar Jung III, was a nobleman and art collector from Hyderabad Deccan. He served as Prime Minister of Hyderabad Deccan during the reign of the seventh Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan. In 1912, at the age of twenty-three, Salar Jung III succeeded Maharaja Sir Kishen Pershad as Prime Minister and served for two and a half years. He held the fourth-highest position among the Hyderabad Deccan nobility, below three members of the Paigah family.

The Old City of Hyderabad is a walled city of Hyderabad, Telangana, India, located on the banks of the Musi River built by Qutb Shahi sultan Muhammed Quli Qutb Shah in 1591 AD. There used to be a wall surrounding the Old City, most of which is destroyed. Mubariz Khan, the Mughal governor of Deccan Subah, had fortified the city in 1712 and was completed by Nizam of Hyderabad.

Mir Ahmed Ali, Nawab Ali Nawaz Jung Bahadur was chief engineer during the rule of Nizam of Hyderabad. He was responsible for major irrigation works, buildings and bridges in Hyderabad State such as Osman Sagar, Nizam Sagar Himayat Sagar and Ali Sagar reservoir of Nizamabad district, also named after him. He served as a chairman of National Planning Committee on River training and Irrigation. Since 2014, Government of Telangana announced that his birthday 11 July will be observed as Telangana Engineer's day.

Aiwan-i Begumpet, also known as Chiraan Fort Palace, and Devdi Fareed Nawaz Jung, or Devdi Nazir Nawaz Jung, was built in 1880 by Sir Viqar-ul-Umra, Amir of the Great Paigah Dynasty of Deccan who served as Prime Minister of Hyderabad. The palace was built after the construction of Falaknuma Palace gifted to the sixth Nizam of Hyderabad Mir Mahbub Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VI. Devdi is one of the complexes in the Paigah Palace residence house of the Paigah Nobelity, In the hierarchy of nobles of Hyderabad, the Paigah family ranked immediately next to the ruling family of Nizams.
