Rajagiri College of Social Sciences is an autonomous higher educational institution located in Kalamassery, Kochi in the Indian state of Kerala. [1]

History

Rajagiri College of Social Sciences was started in 1955 under the University of Madras. In 1960, the college was accredited for offering degrees in Social Services from the University of Kerala and moved to Kalamassery, Kochi.

Academics

Rajagiri offers Master of Social Work (MSW), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BScPsy), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Master of Library Sciences (MLISc), Bachelor of Library Sciences (BLISc) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) along with research degrees (MPhil/PhD) and diploma programmes. The college is currently, affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University. [2]

Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies (RCBS)

Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies is a part of Rajagiri group of institutions, which represents all the management programs offered by Rajagiri Vidyapeetham. [3] RCBS offers courses such as MBA, PGDM, MHRM and International Exchange MBA Programme. [4] In 2018 RCBS was listed under the top 100 Business schools in India by National Institutional Ranking Framework [5] and The Outlook Magazine. [6] RCBS conducts various events and activities throughout the year such as, Rajagiri Management Fest, [7] [8] [9] Rajagiri National Business Quiz (RNBQ), [10] Rajagiri Business League (RBL) [11] [12] and Rajagiri Transcend. [13]

Originally established at Aligarh, United Provinces during the British Empire in 1920, it moved to its current location in Okhla in 1935. Kalamassery is a municipality in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, India. It is a suburb and a prominent industrial region in the Kochi metropolitan area, and is located 9 km (5.6 mi) northeast of the Kochi city centre. It is located 7 km (4.3 mi) north of the district headquarters in Thrikkakara and about 212 km (131.7 mi) north of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. Venu Rajamony is an Indian diplomat and professor affiliated with the Indian Foreign Service. He currently serves as faculty teaching Diplomatic Practice at the Jindal Global Law School of the O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, Haryana. On September 17, 2021, he assumed the role of Officer on Special Duty for External Cooperation in the Government of Kerala, holding the rank of Chief Secretary with an office at Kerala House, New Delhi. However, he resigned from this position on September 16, 2023, citing disagreements with the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He held the position of Ambassador of India to the Netherlands from 2017 to 2020. He also served as the Permanent Representative of India to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague, overseeing India’s relations with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA).
