Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL) is the electricity generation company of the Government of Rajasthan state in India.
Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd has been entrusted with the job of development of power projects under state sector, in the state along with operation and maintenance of state-owned power stations by un-bundling the erstwhile RSEB. The Government of Rajasthan continued the RVUNL under the companies Act 1956 on 19 July 2000. The nigam is playing lead role in giving high priority to the power generation and manifold and rapid development of the state. The chairman and managing director is Shri P. Ramesh.
The installed capacity of RVUNL was as of December 2018 is 6831 MW. [2]
NLC India Limited (NLC) is a government-owned-fossil fuel miner and thermal power generator under the ownership of Ministry of Coal, Government of India. It annually produces about 30 million tonnes of Lignite from opencast mines at Neyveli in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India and at Barsingsar in Bikaner district of Rajasthan state. The lignite is used at pithead thermal power stations of 3640 MW installed capacity to produce electricity. Its joint venture has a 1000 MW thermal power station using coal. Lately, it has diversified into renewable energy production and installed 1404 MW solar power plant to produce electricity from photovoltaic (PV) cells and 51 MW electricity from windmills.
The Rana Pratap Sagar Dam is a gravity masonry dam of 53.8 metres (177 ft) height built on the Chambal River at Rawatbhata in Rajasthan in India. It is part of integrated scheme of a cascade development of the river involving four projects starting with the Gandhi Sagar Dam in the upstream reach in Madhya Pradesh and the Jawahar Sagar Dam on the downstream with a terminal structure of the Kota Barrage in Rajasthan for irrigation.

On 14 January 2000, in accordance to U.P. State Electr Reforms Acts 1999 and operation of U.P. Electricity Reforms Transfer Scheme 2000, U.P. State Electricity Board (U.P.S.E.B.), till then responsible for generation, transmission and distribution of power within the state of Uttar Pradesh, was unbundled and operations of the state sector thermal power stations were handed over to UPRVUNL. Unchahar Thermal Power Station - 420 MW (2X210) & Tanda Thermal Power Station 440 MW (4X110) were transferred to NTPC in year 1992 & year 2000 respectively before unbundling of U.P. State Electricity Board (U.P.S.E.B.) into;
Panki Thermal Power Station is located at Panki in Kanpur Uttar Pradesh. Its first stage was commissioned in 1967 by the then Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.
