Ram Krishna College is a constituent college of Lalit Narayan Mithila University, [1] Darbhanga. It was established in 1940. The college is Re-Accredited by NAAC by Grade-B. [2] At present, the college imparts both Graduate and Post Graduate education to student across all the three facilities i.e. Arts, Science and Commerce. This college has separate blocks for Arts, Science and Commerce blocks, Administrative blocks.

History

Ram Krishna College was established by Baboo Ram Krishna Purbey in August 1940 as an undergraduate college in the city of Madhubani. The college started courses in Arts, Science and Commerce in 1941 after getting affiliation from Patna University. In 1975, Ram Krishna College became one of the constituent colleges of Lalit Narayan Mithila University.

Post Graduate studies commenced in the college in 1983. [3]

Campus

Ram Krishna College spans over 39 acres of land which has Wi-Fi connectivity. Facilities are available for both indoor and outdoor sports including lawn tennis court, volleyball court, basketball court, cricket ground, football ground, table tennis, carrom, chess and badminton. The campus also houses a shooting range, lecture theatre, AC conference room and college library. [3] < [4]

Administration

Ram Krishna College is a constituent colleges of Lalit Narayan Mithila University since 1975, before which it was affiliated to Patna University. Shambhu Kumar Yadav is the principal of the college since 1 December 2016. [5] S.K. Singh is the vice-chancellor. [6]

It is situated in Madhubani City, sapta, State Highway 52, Madhubani Bihar.

Madhubani art is a style of painting practiced in the Mithila region of India and Nepal. It is named after the Madhubani district of Bihar, India, which is where it originated. Jitwarpur and Ranti are the two most notable cities associated with the tradition and evolution of Madhubani art. The art was traditionally practiced by female members of Brahman and Kayastha castes. Artists create these paintings using a variety of mediums, including their own fingers, or twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks. The paint is created using natural dyes and pigments. Lalit Narayan Mishra was an Indian politician who served as Minister of Railways in the government of India from 1973 to 1975. He was brought into politics by the first Chief Minister of Bihar, Sri Krishna Sinha, when he was made parliamentary secretary at his insistence to the First Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. In 1975, he died in a bomb blast at Samastipur railway station. The court case was delayed for years and was finally completed in December 2014.

He completed his master's degree in chemistry subject from Lalit Narayan Mithila University and Ph.D. from Allahabad University. Choudhary is a professor of chemistry in Chandradhari Mithila Vigyan Mahavidyalaya at Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga. Since February 2022, he is also principal of C.M. Science College along with the charge of C. M. Law College, Darbhanga. His father, Late Dr. Nilambar Chaudhary was also a Senior Leader of the Indian National Congress and a member of the Bihar Legislative Council multiple times from Darbhanga Graduate Constituency.
