The International Labour Organization (ILO) is a United Nations agency whose mandate is to advance social and economic justice by setting international labour standards. Founded in October 1919 under the League of Nations,it is one of the first and oldest specialised agencies of the UN. The ILO has 187 member states:186 out of 193 UN member states plus the Cook Islands. It is headquartered in Geneva,Switzerland,with around 40 field offices around the world,and employs some 3,381 staff across 107 nations,of whom 1,698 work in technical cooperation programmes and projects.
The Indian National Congress (INC),colloquially the Congress Party or simply the Congress,is a political party in India with deep roots in most regions of India. Founded on 28 December 1885,it was the first modern nationalist movement to emerge in the British Empire in Asia and Africa. The Telugu Desam Party is an Indian Telugu regionalist political party with influence in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It was founded by the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N. T. Rama Rao (N.T.R.) on 29 March 1982 and has focused on supporting Telugu speakers. The All India Forward Bloc (abbr.AIFB) is a left-wing nationalist political party in India. It emerged as a faction within the Indian National Congress in 1939,led by Subhas Chandra Bose. The party re-established as an independent political party after the independence of India. During the 1951–1952 and 1957 Indian general election,the party was known as Forward Bloc (Marxist). The Congress Working Committee (CWC) is the executive committee of the Indian National Congress. It was formed in December 1920 at Nagpur session of INC which was headed by C. Vijayaraghavachariar. It is composed of senior party leaders and is responsible for taking decisions on important policy and organizational matters,as well as guiding and directing the party's activities and campaigns at the national level. It typically consists of fifteen members elected from the All India Congress Committee (AICC). The CWC is headed by the party president,who is elected by the members of the All India Congress Committee (AICC),the party's central governing body.
Jagjivan Ram,known popularly as Babuji,was an Indian independence activist and politician from Bihar. He was instrumental in the foundation of the All India Depressed Classes League,an organisation dedicated to attaining equality for dalits,in 1935 and was elected to Bihar Legislative Assembly in 1937,after which he organised the rural labour movement.
Marri Chenna Reddy was an Indian politician active in several states. He was the 6th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 1978 to 1980 and from 1989 to 1990. He also served as the governor of Uttar Pradesh (1974–1977),governor of Punjab (1982–1983),governor of Rajasthan from February 1992 to May 1993,and governor of Tamil Nadu from 1993 until his death. Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al-Marri is a Qatari human rights figure and politician born on November 30,1972. He was appointed Minister of Labour of the State of Qatar on October 19,2021,and was re-appointed Minister of Labor by an Amiri order in March 2023. Before taking up the ministerial portfolio,he had chaired the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) for State of Qatar since 2009. He also served as Acting President and Secretary-General of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions and as President of the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions. In 2012 he was elected chairman of the Permanent Arab Committee on Human Rights of the Arab League and Chairman of the Asia Pacific Forum for the session 2013 to 2015. He was re-elected as Chairman of the NHRC of the State of Qatar in 2019. In June 2023,Al-Marri was elected as president of the United Nation's annual International Labour Conference.
