Ramatu Yakubu (born 27 March 1999) is a Nigerian badminton player. [1] Yakubu won bronze medals at the 2018 African Youth Games in the girls' singles and team events. [2]

Career

In 2017, Yakubu competed at the Benin International badminton championships in Cotonou, Benin Republic, and finished as semi-finalists in the women's doubles and mixed doubles events. She later finished as women's doubles runner-up in Lagos International partnered with Zainab Momoh. [3] In 2020, she was registered by the Badminton Federation of Nigeria to compete at the 2020 All Africa Women's Team Championships, but she missed the competition due to team visa application was delayed by the Egyptian Embassy. [4]

Hany featured in Egypt team that for the first time won the All Africa Women's Team Championships in 2020, also claimed two title in the individual competition by winning the women's and mixed doubles event. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in three different events; women's singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

Uchechukwu Deborah ukeh is a Nigerian badminton player. In 2014, she competed at the African Youth Games, and won two gold medals in the girls' doubles and mixed team event. In 2016, she was the women's singles runner-up at the Ivory Coast International, and won the mixed doubles title partnered with Gideon Babalola. In 2017, she and Babalola reach the final round at the Ivory Coast International, but finished in second place. Ukeh also the runner-up at the Benin International tournament in the women's singles and doubles event. In the national event, Ukeh who represented Edo State was the women's singles and doubles runner-up at the Katsina Golden Star Badminton Championships.

Gifty Mensah is a Ghanaian badminton player who joined the national team in 2010. In 2011, she plays for Accra, compete at the Ghana Independence Day Open Championship. She won a gold in the women's doubles and a silver in the singles. At the same year, she was selected to represent her country to compete at the All-Africa Games. Teamed-up with Daniel Sam, they were the finalist at the 2015 Nigeria International tournament. In 2016, she was the runner-up at the Rose Hill International tournament in the mixed doubles event with Emmanuel Donkor, after battling with the Mauritanian Edoo and Louison. She also took the third place in the women's doubles event with Stella Amassah. In 2018, she competed at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast.

Aurélie Marie Elisa Allet is a Mauritian badminton player. She was the mixed doubles gold medalists at the 2013 African Junior Championships and 2014 African Youth Games. She competed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, and in June 2018, Allet won her first senior international title at the Mauritius International tournament in the mixed doubles event with Julien Paul. Allet competed at the 2019 African Games, and won a bronze medal in the mixed doubles event.

Anuoluwapo Juwon Opeyori is a Nigerian badminton player. He started playing badminton together with his brother in 2005, and later he was selected to join Nigeria senior national team in 2017. Opeyori won the African Championships and African Games in the singles event in 2019. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Qingzi Ouyang is a Canadian former badminton player of Chinese origin who competes in international level events. She is a double Pan Am junior champions in the girls' singles. In the senior event, she won a bronze medal in the women's doubles as well as in the mixed doubles at the 2016 Canadian Championships, and helped Canadian women's team finished as runner-up at the Pan Am Team Championships in Mexico.

Godwin Richard Olofua is a Nigerian badminton player who participated at local and international badminton competitions representing Nigeria and has won several trophies. Olofua won gold medal in the mixed team event with silver and bronze medals in singles and doubles events at the 2019 African Championships in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He also won gold during the 2019 African Games in the mixed team, a silver in the men's doubles and a bronze in the men's singles. Olofua won the men's doubles title at the 2018 Côte d'Ivoire, 2019 Benin and Cameroon International tournaments partnered with Anuoluwapo Juwon Opeyori. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
