Rannvijay Singha [1] is an Indian actor, television personality and VJ. Rannvijay is known for his appearance in MTV Roadies, where he hosted the show. He was a part of the show from 2004 to 2020, earlier as a gang leader and then as a host. He also appeared in the judging panel for auditions from 8: Shortcut to Hell to 18: Roadies Revolution.

He made his Bollywood debut in Toss: A Flip of Destiny (2009). Rannvijay has also acted in London Dreams (2009) and Action Replayy (2010). Singha made his Punjabi movie debut in 2011, starring in Jimmy Shergill's Dharti .

Early life

Singha's father, Iqbal Singh Singha is retired Lt. General of Indian Army and his mother Baljeet Kaur is a housewife, although his father is retired but is currently posted in Syria as the UN Force Commander, his mother is a poet in her own right. [2] Owing to his father's transferable jobs across India, he went to nine different schools, and finally graduated from Army Public School,[ citation needed ] Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi. He also attended Hansraj College (University of Delhi and graduated with a B. Com hons). He wanted to win the Hero Honda Karizma R. Singh used to work for a construction worker in New Jersey, United States. His younger brother Harman Singha is also an actor, VJ and television personality. [3]

Personal life

Singha is the only exception in his family to not serve in Indian military as his family is serving Indian military since six generations. [4] Rannvijay married Priyanka Vohra on 10 April 2014. The couple has a daughter named Kainaat who was born on 17 January 2017. [1] Rannvijay is a comics and bikes fan and is known for collecting Wolverine and Batman merchandises, he owns Suzuki GSX-R600, Kawasaki Ninja, Hero Honda Karizma R and Royal Enfield. He is a Warriors fan. [5] He is also a football enthusiast, and became co-owner of then I-League club Minerva Punjab in October 2017. [6] On 4 March 2021, Singha and his wife Priyanka announced that they are expecting their second child. [7]

MTV India

Singha appeared in first season of MTV Roadies and further hosting all the season from 2.0 to Roadies Revolution. He has also hosted other MTV shows, MTV Stuntmania, MTV Force India The Fast and The Gorgeous, MTV Splitsvilla, MTV Scooty Pep Diva and MTV Troll Police. He took an exit from the MTV Roadies. [8]

Film career

Rannvijay made his Bollywood debut in Toss: A Flip of Destiny in 2009. He then acted in London Dreams along with Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan. He further appeared in Action Replayy in 2011. He made his Punjabi cinema debut in 2011, starring in Jimmy Shergill's Dharti . He also acted in a horror film "3 AM".

<i>MTV Roadies</i> Indian reality show

MTV Roadies is a youth-based reality show of India. It was launched on 15 August 2003 and airs on MTV India. The show is also digitally available on Voot and JioCinema.

MTV Roadies 4 is the fourth season of reality game show MTV Roadies that aired on MTV India from 2006–2007. Hosted by MTV VJ Rannvijay, the show features 13 contestants who ride Hero Honda Karizma bikes on a journey where they endure "sun, snow, rain and physical and mental stress, while complex challenges are thrown at them from every direction." In keeping with the reality contest format, contestants at each episode can be eliminated from the game with a vote out. At the final destination, Gangtok, the winner is awarded a cash prize of up to 500,000 Indian rupees. Bollywood actor Gulshan Grover makes appearances in the season to introduce twists into the game. The show's winner was Anthony Yeh.

MTV Roadies Rising is the fourteenth season of Indian reality show MTV Roadies. The show is hosted by Gaelyn Mendonca. It started airing on MTV India from 25 February 2017. The auditions were taken by the four aspiring gang leaders - Rannvijay Singha, Karan Kundrra, Neha Dhupia and Prince Narula. Cricketer Harbhajan Singh is to play a crucial part. Later Nikhil Chinapa replaced Karan Kundrra as gang leader on the journey. Journey started on 8 April 2017 and Roadies Battleground was on 7 April 2017.

Himalaya Roadies is an adventure-based Nepalese reality show. It is franchise of the MTV Roadies series. The series is broadcast by the Nepalese network Himalaya TV and airs every week for an hour. The participants receive difficult tasks to complete to become a roadie. Only people of 18 and over are allowed to participate in the show. Season 4, with the theme of Season of Survival, followed the former format of MTV Roadies. Well known TV host and personality Suraj Singh Thakuri replaced Raymon Das Shrestha as the host of the show in season 5. The fifth season is titled "Power of five". In previous seasons there were four gang leaders, namely Anoop Bikram Shahi, Saman Shrestha, Deeya Maskey and Ashish Rana, a.k.a. Laure. However, from the fifth season, actress Priyanka Karki will replace Saman Shrestha as gang leader, whereas other leaders will remain intact in their respective positions. The show was previously directed by Aman Pratap Adhikari but director and producer Simosh Sunwar has directed it from the fourth season onwards.

Splitsvilla 10 is the tenth season of the Indian reality TV series MTV Splitsvilla. It premiered on 23 July 2017 on MTV India. Hosted by Sunny Leone and Rannvijay Singh.The show consisted of ten boys and ten girls +1 wild card who came to find true love. The theme of the season was "Experiment of Love", i.e. experimenting and testing whether love can be found through science or not. There was a new concept of ideal matches. The show was shot in Jim Corbett National Park. It was the second season to stream on Voot. The season ended on 10 December 2017 with Naina Singh and Baseer Ali being declared as the winners.

Hosted by Sunny Leone and Rannvijay Singha., the show consisted of ten boys and nine girls who came to play the game of love. Shot in Jim Corbett National Park following the previous season, the theme of the season was "Happily (N)Ever After" or "Happily Ever After....Or Never After?". The season was won by Gaurav Alugh and Shruti Sinha whereas Shagun Pandey and Samyuktha Hegde emerged as first runner-up.

<i>MTV Splitsvilla</i> season 14 2022–2023 television series in India

Splitsvilla 14, styled as Splitsvilla X4, is the fourteenth season of the Indian reality series MTV Splitsvilla. Shot in Goa, the season was hosted by Sunny Leone and Arjun Bijlani along with Anushka Mitra and Abhimanyu Raghav as Villa Insiders. It premiered on 12 November 2022 on MTV India. The Grand Finale premiered on 11 February 2023 where Hamid Barkzi and Soundous Moufakir emerged as the winners.
