As of 2010, he has directed six Hindi films, four of which have starred Akshay Kumar. He is the producer of The Kerala Story.

Director Vipul Amrutlal Shah however insists that it is an adaptation of a Gujarati play of the same name and of H. G. Wells' The Time Machine
