The 1920 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the VII Olympiad and commonly known as Antwerp 1920, were an international multi-sport event held in 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium.

Following the Olympics it was converted to a football stadium. Its current tenant is K Beerschot VA, a Belgian football club. There are no remnants of the Olympic athletics track.

During the 1976 Summer Olympics held in Montréal in Canada, the Tunisian team initially competed but then joined a boycott by all but two African nations. The boycott was called due to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) allowing the New Zealand team to participate despite the recent tour of South Africa by the country's rugby union team. Sporting contact with South Africans was banned by the IOC as a consequence of the system of apartheid operated in the country.

Benabid qualified for the men's 200 m individual medley at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, by clearing a FINA B-standard entry time of 2:07.04 from the EDF Swimming Open in Paris. He edged out Andorra's Hocine Haciane to lead the second heat by 0.14 of a second in 2:06.34. Benabid failed to advance into the semifinals, as he placed thirty-fifth overall in the preliminaries.
Salama Abdel Raouf Zenhoum Ismail is an Egyptian former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. She currently holds three Egyptian records each in the 50, 100, and 200 m breaststroke, and plays simultaneously for Zohour Sporting Club in Cairo, and Dekalb International Training Centre (DITC) in Atlanta, Georgia. She also won a total of four medals at the 2003 All-Africa Games in Abuja, Nigeria.
