The Graybar Electric Company Building is located at 55 West Canfield Street in Midtown Detroit, Michigan. This warehouse building was rented to the Graybar Electric Company from 1926 into the 1940s. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
The Upper Lake McDonald Ranger Station in Glacier National Park was a formerly isolated site that became an administrative center with the opening of the Going-to-the-Sun Road. The National Park Service Rustic cabin was typical of the preferred style for western park structures of the period. The Stone Barn is a historic building located in Guttenberg, Iowa, United States. This 1½-story stone structure is located along an alley and has been used for storage. There are indications that at one time it served the dual purpose of shop and residence. The garage door opening is not original to the structure and is located where a smaller door was initially located. There was a fireplace on west side of interior, and the possibility of an arched cellar window at the northwest corner. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
The Kolker House is a historic building located in Guttenberg, Iowa, United States. The two-story brick structure was built about 1859 in what is known as the "Wide Gable Style," with the roof's ridge parallel to the street. Its significance is derived from its early construction, its brick rather than stone construction, a "Flying Buttress" eavespout at the houses right corner, and its excellent condition. The kitchen wing is on the east, and the garage dates from the late 20th-century. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
The Detroit News Complex consists of two buildings: a historic office building at 615 West Lafayette Boulevard in Detroit, Michigan, and an associated parking structure, located across the street at 901 West Lafayette. The two buildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. The main building held the offices of The Detroit News until 2013, and was also the site of the first commercial radio broadcast in the United States.
North Grand Avenue Residential Historic District is a nationally recognized historic district located in Spencer, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. At the time of its nomination the district consisted of 118 resources, including 96 contributing buildings, one contributing structure, 12 noncontributing buildings, and two noncontributing structures. The district is an 11 block area north of the city's central business district. North Grand is a tree-lined street divided by a landscaped boulevard, and features Art Deco light fixtures. Its design was influenced by the City Beautiful movement. The thoroughfare carries U.S. Route 71/18 traffic. The contributing buildings are houses, garages, and four churches. Architectural styles found here are Queen Anne, Victorian, Classical Revival, Colonial Revival, Greek Revival, American Four Square, Tudor Revival, Bungalow, and American Craftsman. Many of the buildings are architect designed. One of the houses in the district, the Adams-Higgins House, was individually listed on the National Register in 1984.
The Dearborn City Hall Complex is a complex of three government buildings located at 13615 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn, Michigan. The complex includes the 1921 Dearborn City Hall, the 1929 Police and Municipal Courts Building, and an office/auditorium concourse addition constructed in 1981. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.
The Tessa Youngblood House is a historic building located in Mason City, Iowa, United States. Completed in 1922, the house is attributed to local contractor John Taylor. The two-story structure features a stuccoed exterior above a brick base, and a heavy roof design with a deep fascia. The attached garage in the back was converted into a room in 1958, and at the same time the second story room above it was added. A detached garage was built the same year. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. In 2015 the house and the garage were included as contributing properties in the Forest Park Historic District.
The Alhambra Apartments is a historic building located in Sioux City, Iowa, United States. The city experienced a building boom in 1929, and this building was constructed at that time by American Builders Incorporated of Lincoln, Nebraska. It was one of five apartment buildings built in the city that year, and based on the cost of construction it was the largest. The six-story U-shaped building rests on top of an underground parking garage. The residents could access the garage by way of an elevator. The building is composed of reinforced concrete faced with tan brick and terra cotta trim. Its design is an eclectic mix of architectural styles with Moorish influences. The Alhambra is located in a residential called the Near North-Side, just outside of the central business district. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
Monte Vista Fire Station is a historic former fire station in the Nob Hill neighborhood of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Built in 1936 using Works Progress Administration funding, it is notable as a well-preserved WPA municipal project and for its significance in the early development of the Nob Hill area. The building served in its original role as a fire station until 1972 and currently houses a restaurant. It is the city's third oldest surviving fire station after the AT&SF Fire Station, built in 1920, and the old station #2 on the corner of High St. and Silver Ave. opened in 1926.
Greenacre Park is a privately owned, publicly accessible vest-pocket park located on East 51st Street between Second and Third Avenues in the Turtle Bay neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, designed by Hideo Sasaki, former chairman of Harvard’s Dept. of Landscape Arch., in consultation with architect Harmon Goldstone. The park, which is owned by Greenacre Foundation, was a 1971 gift from Abby Rockefeller Mauzé, the philanthropist, the daughter of John D. Rockefeller Jr. and the granddaughter of John D Rockefeller.
