Raymond "Mong" de Vera Palatino (born December 19,1979) is a Filipino writer,journalist,politician,and activist. He represented Kabataan (Youth) Party in the 14th and 15th Congress of the Philippines. [1] He is currently the secretary-general of BAYAN Metro Manila. As a writer,he was a contributor for Tinig,Yehey! and UPI-Asia. He is currently the Southeast Asia editor for Global Voices,contributor to ASEAN Beat and The Diplomat,Bulatlat,Manila Today,and New Mandala.
Palatino became a member of the House of Representatives following the decision of the Philippine Supreme Court declaring the entitlement of Kabataan Party to a seat in the House of Representatives. A graduate of education from the University of the Philippines Diliman,Palatino was active in student politics. He was chairperson of the college student council in 1999. A year after that,he was elected as chairperson of the University Student Council. He joined Global Voices Online In June 2006 and he is currently the regional editor for Southeast Asia. [2]
In 2001,Palatino was elected as the national president of the National Union of Students of the Philippines (NUSP),the biggest alliance of student councils and governments in the Philippines.
Palatino was one of the convenors of different broad youth formations,including the Estrada Resign Youth Movement (ERYM),Youth Action Network (YAN),Filipino Youth for Peace,Kabataan Kontra-Kartel (Youth Against the Oil Cartel),and TxtPower. Palatino was awarded by the United Nations Association of the Philippines (UNAP) for "youth empowerment on national concerns".
The Bagong Alyansang Makabayan or Bayan is an alliance of left-wing Philippine organizations. It was founded on International Workers' Day,May 1,1985 as part of the opposition during the Marcos dictatorship.
Elections in the Philippines are of several types. The president,vice-president,and the senators are elected for a six-year term,while the members of the House of Representatives,governors,vice-governors,members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan,mayors,vice-mayors,members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod/members of the Sangguniang Bayan,barangay officials,and the members of the Sangguniang Kabataan are elected to serve for a three-year term.

Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats,abbreviated as Lakas–CMD and also known simply as Lakas,is a political party in the Philippines. Iskoolmates is a youth-oriented magazine and debate program airs every Thursday 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (PST) on PTV. It aired from June 23,2015 to present. The program presents a broader perspective on issues concerning the Filipino youth. Kabataan,also known as the Kabataan Partylist and formerly known as Ang Nagkakaisang Kabataan Para sa Sambayanan,is a partylist in the Philippines affiliated with the leftist political coalition Makabayan. It is currently represented by Raoul Manuel at the Philippine Congress since 2022. According to its website,the partylist represents the youth sector,and aims to "galvanize the Filipino youth’s unity for social change," believing that the youth should "devote its intellect,energy,and courage to building a new society devoid of corruption,inequality,and social injustice."
Kabataang Makabayan,also known by the acronym KM,is an underground communist youth organization in the Philippines which was active from 1964 to 1975. It was banned by the Philippine government in 1972 when then-President Ferdinand Marcos declared martial law,and was driven underground. It was dissolved in 1975 along with other National Democratic mass organizations,as part of the National Democratic movement's change of strategy against the Marcos regime. Revived within the Manila-Rizal area in 1977 and later nationally in 1984,the organization continues to exist.
Sarah Jane Ibañez Elago is a Filipino activist and politician. She was a member of the Philippine House of Representatives for its 17th and 18th Congress,both times representing the youth sector under Kabataan Party-list. Before entering Congress,she was also the national president of the National Union of Students in the Philippines. As of May 2019,she was the youngest female lawmaker in the Philippines.

The Student Christian Movement of the Philippines (SCMP) is a youth ecumenical national democratic mass organization in the Philippines. It aims to uphold students rights and participates in numerous local and worldwide peoples' advocacies. As with other SCMs around the world,SCMP is a member of the World Student Christian Federation. In the Philippines,it is an associate member of the National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP) and Kalipunan ng Kristiyanong Kabataan sa Pilipinas (KKKP). The Samahang Demokratiko ng Kabataan,better known simply by its acronym,SDK,was a mass organization of student and youth activists who pushed for the ideology of National Democracy in the Philippines during the Marcos dictatorship. Initially established on January 30,1968 by activists who broke away from the Kabataang Makabayan (KM),it eventually reconciled with KM under the multi-sectoral Movement for a Democratic Philippines (MDP) in the common effort to fight the dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos. Declared illegal along with any other political organizations when Marcos declared Martial Law in September 1972,it was eventually dissolved in 1975 as the socialist-led resistance to Marcos' martial law administration shifted its tactics away from mass youth organizations.
The Alpha Phi BetaFraternity is a fraternity based in the University of the Philippines College of Law with no recognized chapters outside University of the Philippines Diliman. The fraternity's membership hails from the College of Law and from pre-law colleges in the campus. 2019 marked the fraternity's 80th Anniversary. It is one of the three fraternities based in the college,the other two being Sigma Rho fraternity and Scintilla Juris.
Local elections were held at Manila on May 9,2022,as part of the Philippine general election. Held concurrently with the national elections,the electorate voted to elect a mayor,a vice mayor,thirty-six city council members and six district representatives to congress. Those elected took their respective offices on June 30,2022,for a three-year-long term. 886,133 of 1,133,042 registered voters voted in this election.
The College Editors Guild of the Philippines is an alliance of collegiate student publications in the Philippines. It is the oldest and only-existing publications alliance in the Asia-Pacific. It was established on July 25,1931. It is also a member and a founding organization of Kabataan Partylist.

Raoul Danniel Abellar Manuel is a Filipino youth activist and politician who is the representative for Kabataan Party-list. He is currently the National President of Kabataan Partylist,previously serving as the president of the National Union of Students of the Philippines. He is a member of the Philippine House of Representatives for the 19th Congress.
