Reaching Out is a song by UK electronic trio Nero from their debut album Welcome Reality . It was released as the sixth single from the album on 16 December 2011, peaking at number 92 on the UK Singles Chart and number nine on the UK Dance Chart.
Drafted out by Daniel Stephens, he had an original vision in his mind of sampling Daryl Hall's voice. The office next door to Nero's was occupied by the producer for Hall's latest solo album, Laughing Down Crying , who agreed to put the pair in touch. Hall hence agreed to lay down a full original set of vocals, recorded by Nero. [1]
The track samples an arpeggio from 80's Italian dance group Kano's "Another Life", and features guest vocals from Daryl Hall from Hall & Oates. The song also heavily samples the duo's 80's hit "Out of Touch".
A music video to accompany the release of "Reaching Out" was uploaded to YouTube on 25 November 2011 at a total length of 2 minutes and 57 seconds. [2]
The video heavily references the opening sequences for 80's TV series, such as Miami Vice and Kojak by using original stock footage to build a TV title sequence narrative, suggestively set in Miami or a similar beach-city. The creators also add ludicrous typography and clunky, over-the-top transitions to match. [3] The video also stars all members of Nero (including Alana Watson), as well as a guest appearance by Hall.

Daryl Franklin Hohl, known professionally as Daryl Hall, is an American rock, R&B, and soul singer-songwriter and musician. He is best known as the co-founder and principal lead vocalist of Hall & Oates, with guitarist and songwriter John Oates. Outside of his work in Hall & Oates, he has also released five solo albums, including the 1980 progressive rock collaboration with guitarist Robert Fripp titled Sacred Songs and the 1986 album Three Hearts in the Happy Ending Machine, which provided his best selling single, "Dreamtime", that peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100. He has also collaborated on numerous works by other artists, such as Fripp's 1979 release Exposure, and Dusty Springfield's 1995 album A Very Fine Love, which produced a UK Top 40 hit with "Wherever Would I Be". Since late 2007, he has hosted the streaming television series Live from Daryl's House, in which he performs alongside other artists, doing a mix of songs from each's catalog. The show has been rebroadcast on a number of cable and satellite channels as well.
Uniting Nations are a British dance music act formed in Liverpool in 2004. They achieved chart success across Europe. The act was originally made up of Paul Keenan and Daz Sampson as band members, songwriters and producers. After their 2005 hit "Out of Touch", which was the debut and most successful single of the band, Craig Powell joined in as frontman of the band. A number of songs on the Uniting Nations' debut and only album One World, released in 2005 on Gut Records, were also performed by vocalist and session artist Jinian Wilde.

The song was released as the lead single from Big Bam Boom on Thursday, October 4, 1984, by RCA Records. This song was their last Billboard Hot 100 number-one single, topping the chart for two weeks in December 1984. It also became the duo's fourteenth consecutive top 40 hit since 1980.
"Alive" is a song by S Club, released as a single on 18 November 2002. Called a "power-packed dancefloor thriller" in the Best inlay booklet, the track features strong disco beats and samples. It marked the end of one of the most successful album runs by a duo of the 1980s. RCA issued a remastered version in July 2004 with four bonus tracks. The lead single "Out of Touch" was a #1 pop hit, and charted in several other areas. Another song, the Daryl Hall and Janna Allen-penned "Method of Modern Love", reached #5, and "Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid" reached #18.
