Inspector Reggie anak Deli (15 March 1934 - 14 July 2012) was a Malaysian police officer.

Deli was born on 15 March 1934 in Simunjan, Sarawak to an Iban family. He got an education until Junior Cambridge.[ clarification needed ]
Reggie anak Deli joined the Police Force on 27 July 1961 as a Police Constable. His basic training came at Bukit Siol Police Training School in Kuching, Sarawak. He was then assigned to Kuching District Police Headquarters on 13 March 1962 as a General Duty Member. He was promoted to Police Corporal on 1 April 1967 and assigned to the 18th battalion of Police Field Force (now General Operations Force) at Miri, Sarawak. [ citation needed ]
On 15 August 1969, he was promoted to Police Sergeant and dispatched to Bukit Siol Police Training School as an instructor. On 1 November 1969, he was placed in the 15th battalion of Police Field Force at Sibu, Sarawak, holding the position of Platoon Sergeant. On 13 March 1973, he was reassigned to the Police Field Force Branch of Sarawak Brigade. Later, on 1 June 1973, he was promoted to Inspector and duty as Guardian Officer of the 18th battalion of Police Field Force at Miri, Sarawak. On 5 February 1977, he transferred to the 14th battalion of Police Field Force at Kuching, Sarawak and he served as the company's Acting Guardian Officer before retiring from service on 7 March 1986.[ citation needed ]
Reggie anak Deli led a 6-man force on 10 April 1973. They tracked down and confronted 14 communists travelling in a boat along Sungai Kemena in Sebauh, Bintulu. In the ensuing 20-minute gun battle, the outnumbered team killed six of the insurgents, captured the rest, and seized seven shotguns, 13 bullets, medical supplies and important documents. After this action, he was awarded the Grand Knight of Valour, the highest gallantry federal award.[ peacock prose ][ citation needed ]
On 14 July 2012, Reggie died at the age of 78 in Sarawak. [1]

The Royal Ranger Regiment is an infantry regiment of the Malaysian Army. Although it is second in seniority to the Royal Malay Regiment, the RRD can trace its origins back to the mid 19th century and the establishment of The Sarawak Rangers, the peacekeeping force in the Sarawak region. This force was absorbed by the Sarawak Constabulary in 1932, but the name was revived in 1941 as a British Colonial unit; this unit commanded by British Lieutenant Colonel C.M. Lane was captured by the Japanese in 1942.
The Brunei revolt or the Brunei rebellion of 1962 was a December 1962 insurrection in the British protectorate of Brunei by opponents of its monarchy and its proposed inclusion in the Federation of Malaysia who wanted to establish a republic. The insurgents were members of the TNKU, a militia supplied by Indonesia and linked to the left-wing Brunei People's Party (BPP), which favoured a North Borneo Federation. The TNKU began co-ordinated attacks on the oil town of Seria, on police stations, and on government facilities around the protectorate. The revolt began to break down within hours, having failed to achieve key objectives such as the capture of Brunei Town and Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III. The revolt influenced the Sultan's 1963 decision not to join Malaysia. It is seen as one of the first stages of the Indonesia–Malaysia confrontation.
The Star of the Commander of Valour is a medal awarded by the Malaysian government. The award was established on 29 July 1960, and it was formally gazetted by an act of parliament on 11 August 1960. It is Malaysia's second highest gallantry award, coming in second only to the Grand Knight of Valour.

He was in the Royal Ranger Regiment and Regimental Sergeant Major of 8 Renjer of the Malaysian Army with his tag number 901378. He was awarded the Panglima Gagah Berani and Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa medals from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ahmad Shah on 3 June 1981. He is the sole recipient of both the Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa and Pingat Gagah Berani, and was the last living recipient of the Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa.

The General Operations Force is the light infantry arm of the Royal Malaysia Police. The communist insurgency in Sarawak was an insurgency in Malaysia from 1962 to 1990, and involved the North Kalimantan Communist Party and the Malaysian Government. It was one of the two Communist insurgencies to challenge the former British colony of Malaysia during the Cold War.
