Rest is an oil-on-canvas painting of 1879 by the French academic artist William-Adolphe Bouguereau. It is now in the Cleveland Museum of Art. It depicts a young mother with her children in the shade of a tree, with the dome of St Peter's Basilica in Rome in the background. The composition recalls paintings of the Holy Family by Raphael. The work is signed at the bottom left. [1]

The Large Plane Trees, also called Road Menders at Saint-Rémy is an oil painting by Vincent van Gogh. Painted in 1889 in Saint-Rémy, France, the painting depicts roadwork underneath autumn trees with yellow leaves. In actuality, "The Large Plane Trees" and the "Road Menders of Saint-Rémy" are two different paintings and are sometimes confused as one. Van Gogh painted "The Large Plane Trees" first on a red and white checkered table cloth. He later returned and painted it again on an art canvas.
Sandy and Her Husband is a 1973 painting by the postmodern African-American painter and printmaker Emma Amos (1937-2020). In 2018 the painting was acquired directly from the artist's collection by the Cleveland Museum of Art after having been shown as the centerpiece of the exhibition "We Wanted a Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965–85" at the Brooklyn Museum. The painting actually contains a painting of another Amos painting "Flower Sniffer" (1966), which is a self portrait, and thus the artist was also able to insert herself into the later painting. In addition "Flower Sniffer" was exhibited at the Brooklym Museum to corresponding visual and historical effect. It is considered one of if not the most important work by Amos.
