The district covers the administrative districts of Jaffna and Kilinochchi in the Northern province. Wanisekara Bandaranayake Wasala Mudiyanse Ralahamilage Aluwihare Uda Walauwe Alick Aluwihare was a Sri Lankan politician belonging to the United National Party. He was a Sri Lankan Cabinet Minister. He was a Minister of Post & Telecommunication and Minister of Ports & Shipping in the Premadasa cabinet. He was the Home Affairs and Local Government Minister in the Ranil Wickramasinghe Cabinet in 2001. He was elected to the Sri Lankan Parliament Eight Times from Matale Electoral District.
