Beverley Knight, is an English recording artist and musical theatre actress who released her first album, The B-Funk, in 1995. Heavily influenced by American soul music icons such as Sam Cooke and Aretha Franklin, Knight has released eight studio albums. Widely labelled as one of Britain's greatest soul singers, Knight is best known for her hit singles "Greatest Day", "Get Up!", "Shoulda Woulda Coulda" and "Come as You Are".
"Come as You Are" is the lead single from Beverley Knight's fourth studio album, Affirmation (2004). It was her second UK top-10 hit and is her highest-charting song in the UK, peaking at number nine and remaining in the UK top 75 for 10 weeks. It also briefly charted in Germany, peaking at number 100.
'"Flavour of the Old School"' is a song by British R&B recording artist Beverley Knight, released as her debut single from her debut album, The B-Funk (1995). The track, which peaked at number fifty on the UK Singles Chart when it was released in March 1995, was accompanied by a low budget music video that saw Knight in the recording studio singing directly into the camera. It was re-released however in October 1995, supported by a new video and strong support from urban radio. The song went on to become Knight's first top 40 single, peaking at number thirty-three in the official UK Singles Chart. "Moving On Up " is the fourth single released by British R&B singer-songwriter Beverley Knight, taken from her debut album The B-Funk (1995). It was written by W. Jones and S. Jones and produced by The Ethnic Boyz. The song contains a sample of "You're Too Good To Me" by the soul musician Curtis Mayfield, which was also sampled by American singer-songwriter Mary J. Blige on her single "Be Happy" for her second album My Life (1994). Both songs were recorded in 1994.
'Cast All Your Cares' was the last single released off Beverley Knight's debut album, The B-Funk. The song was not released as a single in the UK and only received a very limited release in Europe, becoming something of a rarity. The single, like most of The B-Funk era singles did not have a promotional video. "Cast All Your Cares" is dedicated to her mother, Dolores Smith, as stated in the album sleeve notes.
"Made It Back" is a song by Beverley Knight, released as the first single from her second studio album, Prodigal Sista. It was also the first single Knight released on EMI controlled Parlophone Records after she signed a four album deal with the label in 1997 after disagreements with her previous label, Dome Records. The release instantly proved that Knight had made the right decision after it entered the UK Singles Chart at #21 – her highest charting single up to that point. Featuring US rap star Redman, the song was nominated for Best Single at the 1998 MOBO Awards in London, which Knight lost out on to Another Level's "Freak Me". However, Knight went on to win Best R&B Act.
"Sista Sista" was the third single release from British soul singer Beverley Knight's Prodigal Sista album. Knight has previously described the song as the highlight of her career as a lyricist, and is dedicated to two of her friends - "Melissa and Karen", according to the album sleeve. The song was released in November 1998 but it failed to chart in Britain.

"Keep This Fire Burning" is a song by Swedish recording artist Robyn, released as the first single from her third album Don't Stop the Music. The single was released in Sweden on 21 September 2002, where it became her highest charting single since 1995's "Do You Really Want Me ". The song was also released as a single in Australia under the name "By Your Side" due to the Australian bushfires which were happening at the time. In 2008, a re-recorded version of the song appeared on the special edition of Robyn's eponymous album.
"No Man's Land" is the first single released by British singer-songwriter Beverley Knight from her fifth studio album, Music City Soul. The song was released on 16 April 2007 digitally and 30 April 2007 physically and peaked at number forty-three on the UK singles chart. A further digital single was released on August 21, 2007 in support of her live performances at the iTunes festival in July, 2007, containing three live tracks. The digital EP release was the first of a two-part digital single, the second being released to promote the third single from Music City Soul, "The Queen of Starting Over".
