Love Soul: Soul UK Live EP is the first EP released by British soul singer Beverley Knight. It is composed of three covers of songs originally by Heatwave, Jaki Graham and Princess, with the deluxe iTunes version containing a fourth track, originally by Lewis Taylor. [1]

The EP was announced for release via Knight's official web site on 20 January 2012. It is due for release on 12 February 2012, the same day as "Round and Around", the fourth single from her album Soul UK is released. A live version of the single is featured as track 2 of the EP. [2]

Background and production

The Love Soul: Soul UK Live EP was recorded at Knight's Soul UK album launch event on 7 April 2011, which was held at the Porchester Hall in London. Live video performances of the tracks, "Always and Forever" and "Round and Around" were featured on the DVD that accompanied the album. It is the first time that the live audio version of "Round and Around" has been featured on a Beverley Knight release, whereas "Say I'm Your Number One" was left off the DVD release of the album. The iTunes version of the EP features an extra track, a live version of Lewis Taylor's "Damn".

Promotion

Knight performed the "Always and Forever" on Lorraine on 9 February 2012 in promotion of the EP. She was also interviewed about the EP on Loose Women on 14 February 2012. [3]

Music video

A week after the release of the EP on 20 February 2012, a video for the opening track, "Always and Forever" was released. The video was directed by Dean Sherwood and was filmed during 2011's Soul UK Tour. [4]

It was released on 7 September 2009 through Knight's own record label Hurricane Record, following her departure from Parlophone. The lead single from the album, "Beautiful Night" was released as a download-only on the same day as the album. A radio only first single, "Every Step", produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis was added to BBC Radio 2's B-list on 17 June 2009. It was released as a free download on 6 July 2009 for two weeks. A remix album, titled 100% – The Remixes was released exclusively on digital download via Beatport on 29 January 2012. It features remixes of three of the 100% album singles, "Beautiful Night", "In Your Shoes" and "Soul Survivor".

Hurt: The EP is the first EP by English singer Leona Lewis. It was released on 9 December 2011 by Syco Music and RCA Records. The EP served as something to bridge the gap for her fans whilst she finished recording her third studio album Glassheart (2012). The album was supposed to be released in November 2011, but was delayed to March 2012, and again to November 2012. Lewis's reason for delaying the album was because after she met producer Fraser T. Smith, the singer wanted to collaborate on new material for possible inclusion on Glassheart. As a result, Smith also produced Hurt: The EP. The EP consists of three cover versions: "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails; "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls and "Colorblind" by Counting Crows. Musically, the songs are influenced by rock music, whilst the lyrics revolve around feeling pain.

Ill Manors is a soundtrack album by British musician and rapper Plan B released on 23 July 2012 as the soundtrack to the film of the same name. Several songs were used in the film Ill Manors, although some of the recordings were completed after the release of the film. The record was mainly produced by Al Shux and Plan B and also features collaborations with Labrinth, Kano, Takura Tendayi and John Cooper Clarke.
