Rex Lasat Navarrete (born May 27, 1969, in Manila, Philippines) is a Filipino American comedian whose material is geared toward Filipino audiences.
Sometime after his birth in 1969, his parents left the Philippines and immigrated to the United States, settling in Chicago. Navarrete, on the other hand, was raised by his grandparents in the provinces of Cavite and Batangas. He later reunited with his parents and his baby sister at the age of three. Eventually, the Navarrete family moved to South San Francisco, California where he spent the rest of his childhood.
Navarrete graduated from San Francisco State University, majoring in film and Asian American studies.
He started his career in 1989 with a performance at University of California Santa Cruz. He has since performed in many colleges and universities all over the world as well as various comedy clubs and festivals, including headlining a sold-out performance at The Warfield in San Francisco as well as the Wiltern LG in Los Angeles. As of December 2006, he has toured extensively throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. These include performances in San Francisco, New York, Montreal, Manila, London, Dubai, Geneva, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Sydney.
In 2003, he released his first DVD entitled Hella Pinoy, in 2005, he released "Badass Madapaka" and in 2010, he released the DVD titled "Komik Organik".
In 2004–2005, he released a 13-episode series on MTV Philippines titled "Rex in the City".
In 2007, an animated series featuring Filipino-American characters known as The Nutshack, Navarrete would be voicing many of the characters.[ citation needed ]

Gabriel "Flash" Elorde was a Filipino professional boxer. He won the lineal super featherweight title in 1960. In 1963, he won the inaugural WBC and WBA super featherweight titles. He holds the record at super featherweight division for the longest title reign, spanning seven years. Elorde is considered one of the best Filipino boxers of all time along with eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao and Pancho Villa, flyweight champion in the 1920s. He was much beloved in the Philippines as a sports and cultural icon, being the first Filipino international boxing champion since middleweight champion Ceferino Garcia.
Lastikman, originally spelled Lastik Man, is a fictional character and Filipino comics superhero created by Mars Ravelo and artist Mar T. Santana. Lastikman or the original spelling of Lastik Man debuted in comics format in Aliwan Komiks #56. Based on DC Comics' Plastic Man, and/or Marvel's Mister Fantastic from Fantastic Four, Lastikman can also stretch and transform into many imaginable forms and shapes he desires.

Zuma is a Filipino comic book character created by Jim Fernandez in 1974. The character first appeared in a serial written by Fernandez entitled Aztec. From 1976 to 1985, Zuma got his own series named Anak ni Zuma that was serialized in Aliwan Komiks published by Graphics Arts Service Inc. with illustration by Ben Maniclang. The comics series was the biggest best seller for Aliwan. Mr. One-Two-Three Part 2 is a 1981 Filipino comedy film written and directed by Mike Relon Makiling and starring the comedy trio Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon. Based on the Pinoy Komiks characters created by L. P. Calixto, it is a sequel to the 1980 film Mr. One-Two-Three. The film was released in theaters by GP Films on July 31, 1981, and was later reissued in early April 1988. Critic Lav Diaz criticized the film as simplistically comical and cliché, with its gags already done before by Filipino comedians Dolphy, Chiquito, and Cachupoy, though he noted that it demonstrates the then-current state of comedy films produced in the Philippines. A sequel of the movie called Super Wan-Tu-Tri we're released in 1985.
