Rhagio punctipennis, the lesser variegated snipe fly, is a species of snipe flies in the family Rhagionidae. [1] [2] [3]
The common snipe is a small, stocky wader native to the Old World. The scientific name gallinago is New Latin for a woodcock or snipe from Latin gallina, "hen" and the suffix -ago, "resembling".
The insect family Nabidae contains the damsel bugs. There are over 500 species in 20 genera. They are soft-bodied, elongate, winged terrestrial predators.
