Rhys Thompson (born 19 July 1996) is an English international judoka. He has represented England at the Commonwealth Games and won a bronze medal. [1] [2]

Biography

Thompson is a double British champion, winning the half-heavyweight title at the British Judo Championships in 2018 and 2021. [3] He has twice won medals at the European Open. [4]

In 2022, he was selected for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham where he competed in the men's 100 kg, winning the bronze medal. [1] [5] At the 2022 British National Championships he successfully defended his -100kg title. [6]

Rhys Joshua McClenaghan is a Northern Irish artistic gymnast competing internationally for both Ireland and Northern Ireland. He is a double world champion on pommel horse, having won gold in 2022 and 2023, the first Irish artistic gymnast ever to win world championship gold. In 2019, he became the first Irish gymnast to qualify to a world championships final and to also win a medal, taking bronze on pommel horse.
