He shares the record for the longest successful field goal in NCAA history at 67 yards,which he set in 1977 while playing for the University of Texas. Erxleben was a three-time All-American punter. He was selected in the first round of the NFL draft,an extremely rare occurrence for a kicker. After an NFL career lasting six years,he became a currency investor. Convicted of securities fraud in 1999,he was released from federal prison in 2005. He was again convicted of investment fraud in 2014 and sentenced to 90 months in federal prison.
Robert Paul Gould III is an American former professional football player who was a placekicker for 18 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Chicago Bears,New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers. He played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions. Gould was originally signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He played with the Bears from 2005 to 2015,earning first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in 2006,and became the franchise's all-time leading scorer.
Mason Walker Crosby is an American professional football placekicker who is a free agent. He played college football at Colorado,and earned unanimous All-American honors. The Green Bay Packers selected him in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL draft.

The Double Doink was a game-ending field goal attempt by Chicago Bears kicker Cody Parkey in the National Football League (NFL)'s 2018 NFC Wild Card game. Parkey's failed 43-yard field goal attempt against the Philadelphia Eagles was partially blocked by Eagles defensive lineman Treyvon Hester,hit the left upright,then bounced off the crossbar,and finally fell back out onto the goal line finishing on the 3-yard line. The sixth-seeded,defending Super Bowl champion Eagles won the game over the third-seeded Bears,16–15,at Soldier Field in Chicago,Illinois,and advanced to the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
The Instant Replay Game,also known as the Asterisk Game,was a National Football League (NFL) game between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears on November 5,1989. The Packers defeated the visiting Bears 14–13 on a controversial fourth-down touchdown pass from Don Majkowski to Sterling Sharpe with less than a minute to play in the game. Line judge Jim Quirk initially called a penalty on the play for an illegal forward pass,thus nullifying the potentially game-winning score. Quirk's penalty was based on the belief that Majkowski had thrown the pass after the ball had passed the line of scrimmage.
Dez Caught It was a National Football League (NFL) Divisional Playoff game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers on January 11,2015. The game,which was played at Lambeau Field in Green Bay,Wisconsin,gained notoriety after a play in which Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant attempted to catch a pass from quarterback Tony Romo in the closing minutes of the 4th quarter. The pass was initially ruled a catch before controversially being overturned after officials determined Bryant did not complete the process of a catch while he was lunging towards the end zone. The Packers would get the ball on the turnover on downs and run out the clock. They won by a score of 26–21 and moved on to the NFC Championship Game,where they would lose to the Seattle Seahawks. In the following years,the NFL changed the rules regarding catching a pass while falling to the ground. The new rules would likely have given Bryant a completed catch,although what constitutes a catch has continued to be debated.

He played college football at Auburn,and was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL draft. As a placekicker,he has been recognized as both a high school and collegiate All-American,as well as an All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) First Team and Lou Groza Award semifinalist selection.
