Rich Zvosec (born March 13, 1961) is a television broadcaster for ESPN and Fox Sports, motivational speaker and a Telly Award-winning actor, a former American college basketball coach and college administrator. After a 25-year coaching career, he currently serves as the associate athletics director for Arkansas State University.

Life

Zvosec was born in Lorain, Ohio, and graduated from Lorain Catholic High School in 1979. He enrolled at Defiance College, where he played basketball and earned a bachelor's degree in business. In 1988 he became head coach of the St. Francis (NY) Terriers, becoming the youngest Division I coach in the country at age 27. In his third year, the Terriers recorded the program's first winning season since 1978 and had the most DI wins in two decades. Zvosec left in 1991, and became head coach for the University of North Florida North Florida Ospreys, the first in school history. In 1997, he left UNF for one year at Millersville University of Pennsylvania. [1] In 2001, he succeeded Dean Demopoulos as head coach for the University of Missouri–Kansas City Kangaroos. Four of his six teams at UMKC finished with winning records. He also finished with one of the highest winning percentages in conference play while at the school, and the most conference wins in school history. He led the Kangaroos to a 93-52 win over Kansas State in December 2003, the school's 200th win and their first over the Wildcats. He left with the highest winning percentage in school history. Zvosec also had the second highest Mid-Continent Conference winning percentage during his six-year tenure. Zvosec was fired from UMKC on March 13, 2007. He subsequently worked as a color commentator for ESPN. [2] Zvosec was inducted into the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame on May 3, 2007. In 2008 Zvosec authored a book about his collegiate coaching experiences called "Birds, Dogs and Kangaroos: Life on the Back Roads of College Basketball" [3] In 2013, he became the associate athletic director of Arkansas State University. [4] He is married to Hall of Fame Lacrosse player, Sandy Lanahan and have three children (Colin, Devin and Kailey).

Eric Patrick Musselman is an American college basketball coach who is the current head men's basketball coach at the University of Arkansas. He is the former head coach of the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Between head coaching stints at Golden State and Sacramento, Musselman served as an assistant for the Memphis Grizzlies under Mike Fratello. He moved to the college coaching ranks in 2012 as an assistant at Arizona State. From 2014–19, he was the head coach for Nevada. The son of former NBA head coach Bill Musselman, Eric Musselman was a head coach in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) before becoming an assistant coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, and Atlanta Hawks.

2013–14 UMKC Kangaroos mens basketball team American college basketball season

The 2013–14 UMKC Kangaroos men's basketball team represented the University of Missouri–Kansas City during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Kangaroos were led by new head coach Kareem Richardson. They played most of their home games at the Municipal Auditorium, with a few games also being held at the Independence Events Center. This was their first year as a member Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 10–20, 7–9 in WAC play to finish in a tie for fifth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the WAC Tournament to Idaho.

Martez Harrison is an American basketball player. He played college basketball for the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC). At UMKC, Harrison was the 2015 Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year and was named the school's first All-American in the history of its men's basketball program.

Marsha Kay Frese-Elliott is an American college basketball coach, most recently working as an assistant coach for Boston College. She had previously been the head women's basketball coach at UMKC.

1990–91 St. Francis Terriers mens basketball team American college basketball season


The 1990–91 St. Francis Terriers men's basketball team represented St. Francis College during the 1990–91 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was coached by Rich Zvosec, who was in his third year at the helm of the St. Francis Terriers. The Terrier's home games were played at the Generoso Pope Athletic Complex. The team has been a member of the Northeast Conference since 1981.

2019–20 NCAA Division I mens basketball season

The 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 5, 2019. The first tournament was the 2K Sports Classic and the season concluded prematurely on March 12, 2020. The 2020 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament was scheduled to end in Atlanta on April 6, 2020, but was ultimately canceled. All other postseason tournaments were canceled as well. Practices officially began in late September.
