Richard Goulding (born 1980/1981) [1] is a British actor, best known for playing Prince Harry in the 2014 stage play King Charles III , and its 2017 BBC TV adaptation, as well as in the 2016 television series The Windsors . [2]
Goulding was educated at Shrewsbury School, Oxford University, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Goulding is a visiting director at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and at which he appeared as Ivor Gurney in A Soldier and a Maker in 2012. [3] His other stage work includes The Seagull (2007–2008) and A Mad World My Masters (2013) [4] for the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Way of the World at the Sheffield Crucible (2012), [5] both runs of Posh (2010 and 2012), the 2012 King Lear at the Almeida Theatre and the 2013 Titus Andronicus and A Mad World My Masters with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Film and television work has included The Iron Lady , Foyle's War and Fresh Meat .
In 2019 he appeared as Boris Johnson in Toby Haynes's Channel 4 production, Brexit: The Uncivil War , and as Daniel Radcliffe in the satirical comedy, Island of Dreams. [6] In 2021 he played David Boutflour in the Netflix series White House Farm . [7]

The Ian Charleson Awards are theatrical awards that reward the best classical stage performances in Britain by actors under age 30. The awards are named in memory of the British actor Ian Charleson, and are run by the Sunday Times newspaper and the National Theatre. The awards were established in 1990 after Charleson's death, and have been awarded annually since then. Sunday Times theatre critic John Peter (1938–2020) initiated the creation of the awards, particularly in memory of Charleson's extraordinary Hamlet, which he had performed shortly before his death. Georgia Shakespeare produced three plays annually, primarily between June and November. Twelve educational programs were developed in the history of Georgia Shakespeare. These programs included "The High School Tour", a "High School Acting Competition", "Camp Shakespeare", a "High School Conservatory", a "No Fear Shakespeare" training program for educators, after school residencies, school tours, student matinees, classes for professionals, and in-school workshops. At its peak, it welcomed 60,000 patrons annually to its performances.

A Soldier and a Maker is a piece of musical theatre written by Iain Burnside on the life story of the World War I poet and composer Ivor Gurney. It premiered in April 2012 at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, with Richard Goulding as Gurney. The production was designed by Giuseppe and Emma Belli. It was later adapted into a radio play broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on 29 June 2014 as part of the "Music in the Great War" season. The radio adaptation retained many of the stage cast.
