Established 1 July 1973, the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) is a major command of the United States Army headquartered at Fort Eustis, Virginia. It is charged with overseeing training of Army forces and the development of operational doctrine. TRADOC operates 37 schools and centers at 27 different locations. TRADOC schools conduct 1,304 courses and 108 language courses. The 1,304 courses include 516,000 seats for 443,231 soldiers; 36,145 other-service personnel; 8,314 international soldiers; and 28,310 civilians.
Thomas Fredric Metz is a retired lieutenant general in the United States Army. Metz retired from the Army in Jan 2010 after more than 40 years of active military service. His tour of duty prior to retirement was as the director, Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization., leading the DOD organization tasked with finding and fielding ways to defeat the IED threat. Previously he was the deputy commanding general and chief of staff, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. Previous to that assignment he was commanding general of the U.S. III Corps and Fort Hood. He assumed command of III Corps on 7 February 2003.
Dennis Joe Reimer is a retired general of the United States Army, who served as the 33rd Chief of Staff of the Army from June 20, 1995 to June 21, 1999. He is also a graduate of Ranger and Airborne school.

In October 2011 Campbell began working for Northrop Grumman Corporation as vice president and corporate lead executive (CLE) for company business after retiring from the Army.
David Paul Valcourt is a retired lieutenant general of the United States Army. He served as the Deputy Commanding General and Chief of Staff, United States Army Training and Doctrine Command from February 25, 2008 to May 3, 2010, after serving as Commanding General, Eight United States Army. He was previously the Commanding General of the Field Artillery Center and Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Robert William Cone was a United States Army four-star general who last served as the commanding general of United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). He assumed command of TRADOC on 29 April 2011. He previously served as the commander of Fort Hood and III Corps on 22 September 2009, with which he deployed to Iraq in February 2010, and served as the Deputy Commanding General for Operations, United States Forces – Iraq, until February 2011. Prior to that, he served as the Special Assistant to the Commanding General of TRADOC. He retired in 2014.

Starting in June 2011, he worked as the Executive Vice President for Strategic Planning for the Sierra Nevada Corporation. Maxie McFarland died on 8 November 2013 and is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. He was inducted into the Military Intelligence Hall of Fame in 2014.
John Ember "Jack" Sterling Jr. is a retired United States Army lieutenant general. He served as Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff for United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) from 2010 to 2012, and was acting commander in 2011. He retired in June 2012.
Larry Wyche, is a retired United States Army Lieutenant General. He last served as the deputy commanding general of the U.S. Army Materiel Command. Prior to his last assignment, Wyche served as the Special Assistant to the Commanding General, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. LTG David Dale Halverson assumed the duties of the commanding general of the U.S. Army Installation Management Command and Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management April 8, 2014. Previously, he served as deputy commanding general/chief of staff, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command TRADOC. Halverson assumed duties as the Deputy Commanding General/Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command on 4 June 2012. Halverson's first duty assignment was in the 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas in 1979 where he served as a Battalion Reconnaissance Officer, Battery Fire Direction and Executive Officer and Battalion Adjutant. Since then, Halverson has served in various staff and leadership positions including command at every level from Battery to Post Command. His commands include A Battery, 6th Battalion, 29th Field Artillery, 8th Infantry Division; 2nd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery, 1st Cavalry Division; 2nd Infantry Division Artillery, Operational Test Command, and Commanding General, Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill.
