The Riether Werder, also Riethscher Werder, is an island in the Nowe Warpno Lake, a bay in the Szczecin Lagoon. It is the only island in the lagoon on German territory.
The first recorded mention of the island dates to the year 1252, when Duke Barnim I of Pomerania gifted this island along with other possessions to Eldena Abbey. It was then given it the Slavic name Wozstro.[1] The present name of the island is derived from the village of Rieth on the southern shore of the bay.
The island belongs to the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and lies in the extreme northeast of Germany. It has national importance as a bird island. It is 0.79km2 (0.31sqmi) in area and lies about a kilometre from the south and west shore of the Nowe Warpno Lake. The sea border with Poland runs immediately past the eastern tip of the island.

Abbotts Lagoon is a lagoon on the northwestern coast of the Point Reyes National Seashore, southwest of Tomales Point, in California, United States. The inland portion of the lagoon receives freshwater runoff, but the lagoon may be brackish from occasional winter tidal exchange along its western edge. The eastern shore of the lagoon is covered with old growth northern coastal scrub including coyote bush, yellow bush lupine, sword fern and California blackberry.

The Balmer See is the southeastern embayment of the Achterwasser on the island of Usedom off Germany's Baltic coast. To the south is the only golf course on the island - with 27 holes and 120 hectares in area. The Grabow is a bodden - a lagoon-like waterbody - off the Baltic Sea south of the Zingst and Großer Werder peninsulas and the island group of Kleiner Werder.
The Nowe Warpno Lake is a bay on the southern shore of the Szczecin Lagoon. It runs for about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) into the interior and has two narrow channels to the lagoon in the north that are each only 150 metres (490 ft) wide and divided by a small island of reeds.

The German island of Liebitz lies in the lagoon of Kubitzer Bodden about 700 metres west of Germany's largest island, Rügen, in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It belongs to the municipality of Dreschvitz.
Historical Western Pomerania, also called Cispomerania,Fore Pomerania, Front Pomerania or Hither Pomerania, is the western extremity of the historic region of Pomerania forming the southern coast of the Baltic Sea, located mostly in north-eastern Germany, with a small portion in north-western Poland.
Nalbana Bird Sanctuary or Nalbana Island is the core area of the Ramsar designated wetlands of Chilika Lake. It was declared a bird sanctuary under the Wildlife Protection Act in 1972. In the heart of the park, one can see thousands of birds descending during the migratory season. The island disappears during monsoon season due to inundation only to emerge again in post-monsoon.
