Rikke Erhardsen Skov (born 7 September 1980) is a former Danish team handball player and Olympic champion. She received a gold medal with the Danish national team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. [1] A loyal player of Viborg HK, Skov joined the club yet as a teenager in 1994 and it remained her lone team till she retired in 2016 and retired from active sports when she became pregnant in February 2017. [2]
In 2011, she was one of the five handballers, and the only woman who received The EHF Handball Award. The prize was handed out in the 20th anniversary of the European Handball Federation for the players who achieved the biggest successes both in club and international level. [3]
Skov started her handball career in 1992, aged 12. She played for Overlund GF until she joined Viborg HK in 1994. [4] With Viborg, Skov has won numerous titles, both domestic and European. Her achievements include winning the Champions League in 2006, 2009 and 2010, the EHF Cup in 1999 and 2004, four Danish Cups and seven Danish Championships.
Rikke Skov made her debut with the national team on 28 July 2000, and was appointed team captain in 2007. [5] She received an Olympic gold medal in Athens 2004 and a silver medal at the 2004 European Championship. Skov first retired from international handball in April 2009, [6] until when she played 107 matches and scored 296 goals. [7] However, Skov later changed her mind and participated on the 2010 European Women's Handball Championship, where she reached the fourth place. [8] In 2011, she continued to play for the national team and participated among others on the GF World Cup '11, but before the squad selection for the 2011 World Championship she withdrew from the team to focus fully on her club duties. [9] On Friday 29 April she announced that she ended her national team career.
Skov met fellow handballer Lotte Kiærskou as teammates for Viborg HK, and "never had any thought to keep their relationship secret." [13] They were in a registered partnership as allowed by Danish law. [13] but split in 2011. [14] Kiærskou, now retired, gave birth to the ex-couple’s two daughters. [14]
In 2017, Skov herself gave birth to a daughter fathered by her boyfriend, retired handball player Jakob Borrits Sabra, [15] whom she married in 2018. [16]
Viborg HK is a Danish professional handball club from Viborg. The club has many teams for both women and men, but especially the professional women's team is one of the most successful in Danish and European handball since the beginning of the 1990s. This team currently competes in the women's Danish Women's Handball League.

Katja Johanna Alice Nyberg is a naturalized Norwegian former handball player. She played 99 games and scored 321 goals for the Norwegian national team during her career. With the Norwegian team she won a gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and a silver medal at the 2007 World Women's Handball Championship in France, as well as two gold medals and one silver medal at the European Championships.
Valérie Nicolas is a French handball goalkeeper and former player of the French national team. She became World Champion in 2003 with the French team, and was also voted Most Valuable Player and Best Goalkeeper. She was voted into the All-Star Team in the 2007 World Championship. Among her other triumphs are a silver medal from the World Championships, two bronze medals from the European Championships, victories at the Champions League, the EHF Cup, the Cup Winners' Cup, and both French and Danish national championships.
Tonje Larsen is a retired Norwegian handballer who played for the Norwegian national team. She is Olympic champion, World champion and three times European champion. As a club player she is several times Norwegian champion and once Danish champion, and has won the EHF Cup, EHF Cup Winners' Cup and the EHF Champions League.
Lotte Kiærskou is a Danish former team handball player, and twice Olympic champion. She won a gold medal with the Danish national team at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, and the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
Linn Jørum Sulland is a Norwegian handball player for Oppsal and a retired player for the Norwegian national team.
Kristine Lunde-Borgersen is a retired Norwegian handballer who played for the Norwegian national team. She is Olympic champion, World Champion and three times European champion. She is the twin sister of fellow handball player Katrine Lunde. On 13 June 2017, she announced her return to playing handball for the 2017–2018 season, to replace Marta Tomac, who is out of play following a severe injury.
Heidi Løke is a Norwegian handball player for Larvik HK and formerly the Norwegian national team.
Bojana Popović née Petrović, is a handball coach and a retired Montenegrin handballer. She is considered by many to be the best female handball player of the past decade, despite not being given any official recognition. After winning the Women's EHF Champions League with Budućnost and a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games with the Montenegro national team, Bojana Popović decided to retire from handball. However, in June 2016 Popović announced she would come out of retirement and make herself available for selection by the Montenegro national handball team to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Ida Bjørndalen Karlsson is a former Norwegian handball player, who last played for Team Esbjerg. She made her debut for the Norwegian national team in 2004. She won the Champions League with Viborg HK in 2009. She had initially announced her retirement with the conclusion of the 2016–17 season but changed her mind.

Johanna Maria Helène Ahlm is a former Swedish handball player. She started and ended her career at the Swedish club IK Sävehof, but other than those tenures she played her entire career in the Danish handball league. She also played for the Sweden women's national handball team. She competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where Sweden placed 8th, and the 2012 Summer Olympics, where Sweden placed 11th. Ahlm was listed among the top ten goalscorers at the 2008 Olympics tournament with 40 goals.

Amanda Kurtović is a Norwegian handball player who plays right back for Larvik HK and formerly the Norwegian national team. She has won medals at Olympic, World and European level.
