Rimvydas Valatka

Rimvydas Valatka (born 19 December 1956 near Irkutsk, Soviet Union) is a Lithuanian journalist and signatory of the 1990 Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania. [1] He graduated from Vilnius Pedagogical University in 1980 with a degree in history education. He now works as deputy chief editor of the largest Lithuanian daily Lietuvos rytas [2] and editor-in-chief of its online edition at lrytas.lt. [3]

2012-2015 editor-in-chief of the newspaper and news portal 15min, 2015-2016 editor-in-chief and director of Veidas magazine, in 2017 the editor-in-chief of the ELTA news agency.[ citation needed ]

Basketball Club Neptūnas, commonly known as Neptūnas or Neptūnas Klaipėda, is a Lithuanian professional basketball club based in Klaipėda, Lithuania. The club participates in the Lithuanian Basketball League. It was founded in 1962 under the name BC Maistas and in 1964, BC Maistas's name was changed to BC Neptūnas. The club carries the name of the Roman sea god Neptune. Neptūnas participated in the 2014–15 EuroLeague season and is only the third Lithuanian club to participate in the premier European basketball league, after Žalgiris and Rytas.

<i>Lietuvos aidas</i>

Lietuvos aidas is a daily newspaper in Lithuania. It was established on September 6, 1917, by Antanas Smetona, and became the semi-official voice of the newly formed Lithuanian government. When the government evacuated from Vilnius to the temporary capital, Kaunas, it ceased publication. The newspaper was revived in 1928 as the newspaper of the Lithuanian government and became the most popular newspaper in Lithuania. At its peak, it published three daily editions with combined circulation of 90,000 copies. World War II disrupted its publication. In 1990, after Lithuania declared independence from the Soviet Union, the newspaper once again became the official newspaper of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Lithuania. At the end of 1992, its circulation reached 103,000 copies. However, it was soon privatized and faced shrinking readership, financial difficulties, and other controversies. In April 2006, bankruptcy proceedings were initiated by the State Tax Inspectorate when its tax debts reached more than 4 million litas. The company was liquidated in 2015, but the newspaper continues to be published by a non-profit organization.

2020 Lithuanian Baseball League was the 34th annual edition of the Lithuanian Baseball League, organised by the Lithuanian Baseball Association. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Lithuania, only four teams participated in the championships, in comparison to usual 12 teams format. The finals were played on 12-13 September 2020.
